I wonder why they chose that particular episode to do a call back on. Hopefully there's some tie in to the Jones arc.
Perhaps there were things that they wanted to do with that character, but didn't get the chance to in the original episode. Having them currently set in an alternate timeline (or is it?) gives them the opportunity to do more with that character.

Yes. I'm hoping by bringing up an old case, they use it as an excuse to bring back a dangling plot thread or two.
I'm just glad that Peter is in the "correct" universe.
And yet it's a universe with a completely different history, at least in regard to Peter. It'll be interesting to see Markum's reaction to him, as I'm assuming that he won't remember who Peter is any more than Walter or Olivia did when Peter returned.
It's better that this universe is the correct universe because that makes everything that has happened in this universe up to this point revelant and not something to be brushed aside once Peter crosses over to his "home universe." I love the addition of Lincoln Lee to the team, the character direction they took with Walter after he failed to save the other Peter, the return of David Jones, and all the troubles the shaepshifters are causing for both universes which strengtens their fragile alliance a bit.
I'm here and I'm looking forward to this episode!

That's a good assessment, most of which I have to agree with you on. I'm still bothered by the fact that the Machine shouldn't have worked to begin with w/o Peter there to power it, so in this timeline, how did they get it to create a bridge between unis?
Was he flying Jet Blue?
Maybe this guy shouldn't fly.
