Olivia discovers that a mentally-ill patient who is a suspect in a string of murders may be connected to her own past.

But which past, I wonder? Now that Olivia 3.0 is showing signs of remembering 1.0's life, the question does bear asking. That alone should make this ep rather interesting.

Just this one and 4x14 remain until our March break, then we'll get the final eight episodes in a row until we reach the finale, be it for the season or for the whole enchilada... Hmmm, now there's a food idea for Walter!

Interesting thing at TVByTheNumbers...

FOX: Even Free, 'Fringe' Might Not Be Worth It, But That's All Fans Can Hope For

I always preach ignoring what networks say, and paying attention only to what they do.

What Fox says:

"We love Fringe" Certainly true, but irrelevant. They love all their shows, right until the day they cancel them (and afterwards!).
"Fringe is losing us money" Perhaps true, but possibly fixable. Profit and loss can be adjusted by a change in the license fee.

What Fox did:

Renewed Fringe after woeful third season ratings for a fourth season, almost certainly because Warner Brothers sharply cut the license fee.

:p

[edit] You should read everything they had to say. ;)

Warner's may be willing to drop the license fee even lower if it means a fifth season or half season will bring it to the syndicatable one hundred episode package. Maybe. I imagine at this point it's just lawyers calling each other every few days to argue over the fee until we finally get the notice that it's a fifth season, a half season, or a cancellation.

Thanks Jet for that bit of news. Though I continue to hope that we get a fifth and presumably final season that is set back in the two 'proper' Fringe dual-universes, I'm not really optimistic that that's what's going to happen. At this point, the best I'm hoping for is that they know the plug has been pulled in time to write a truly decent and fitting two hour finale for the show that will be a pay-off for those loyal fans who have stuck with it from the beginning, when the show really was great.

TV Guide has confirmed that next week is the last one before our mini-break. The description was... intriguing.

Man, this thread went up kind of early today... That excited? I'll be watching. Not sure If I'll join in the live comentary, though. OK, a solid ... maybe....

1 hour 45 minutes to go ....

Q2

I kind of wish they just decided to finish the series this season rather than risk getting another one. It'll be awful if the show doesn't get a proper conclusion.

I don't think Peter is right that he is simply in another timeline, I think this IS the original Fringe universe and he has to 'fix' whatever the observers did at the end of the last season. I also think we're going to see some sort of merge where characters remember both timelines or something, a straight reboot would not be satisfying.

Actually Q2, I've been putting them up on Thursday evenings, just because it's more convenient. I don't always get home on Fridays with a lot of time to spare before the show.

Speaking of which, we're down to 27 minutes!

:techman:

^Understood. Thought someone was really, really happy it was Fringe Night.... ;)

15 minutes. Better go find my bi-focals. Can't type and watch TV without them... Yea, I'm here... (and that old)

Q2

I've been happy if they gave them at least a few episodes next year to finish off the show's run. I wish they could get more but I just don't see that happening.

One never knows. A good syndication package is a strong financial incentive. Perhaps they'll get a 13 ep. Season 5 to tidy things up,

Tonights beer is Yuengling ... Smoking light is on. E-vapor tonight is NLV's "Maverick" with a hint of menthol. .... Sound like RDM's podcast....

I probably SHOULD have bi-focals, but so far have refused do so. I make do by taking my glasses off to read fine print.

So I'm guessing we're probably contemporaries.

So Olive remembers more than she's letting on and some dude is seeing through someone eles's eyes.... not impressed so far....
