One of my closest friends probably would've been loved this board and I kept meaning to mention it to him. He was the only person I knew that I could have an enthusiastic conversation about Trek and other sci fi shows, and really, he actually out-geeked me by quite a bit. Unfortunately, he died in a car wreck about a year ago.

I'm sorry to hear that as well.

I have a life long Trek fan friend of mine and suggested he check this place out. He did and said he didn't like it. Mostly the way people here treat each other and the limited narrow viewpoints. He's never been back.

I know how he feels. I rarely venture into any of the actual trek forums for that very reason.

Actually, it probably fell under the 'obnoxious no0bie trollery in his first few posts' catagory. I later got a snarky pm from a mod (Uni or Captain Ice maybe???) since they were aware I was a friend of his. The whole thing was so funny -- he couldn't believe he got tossed In real life he was fired from this hospital -- he worked for IS and they used to play Soldier Of Fortune for hours every day until he got caught. Then he turned around and ratted out his boss for looking at porn during work hours and he was also fired. Ha! Those were the days

I tired to get him to take more pictures after he'd stabbed me because I thought it would be funny to post those on here, but he was like "NO!!!" and then started whining about stuff like "evidence," and "police."

He wouldn't take pictures of me nearly bleeding to death after he stabbed me, he won't talk his brother-in-law into shooting me with his police-issue taser while he films it, he wouldn't help me hide the body of that hooker I accidentally killed... What happened to you, Bolio? You used to be fun!

Most of my real life friends are in the medical profession and most of their hobbies revolve around that.

Am I only one worried by this?

Anyway I think most of my friends would be only to happy to join a place like this, if only their girlfriends would let them.
