As to free ones, how do you know some maniac hasn't stuck a pin in them through the packaging a bunch of times?

How do you know that hasn't happened to ones that you have bought?

What is it about people that work in family planning places that you think makes them more likely to do such a thing than someone who works in a condom factory? Or a chemist, or a shop, or a machine stocker? Or someone like me who brands and then resells them?

Definitely don't want them off you if you brand them... All that heat probably isn't good.

I'm talking about the bowl of condoms on the student lounge table, here take one they are free, scenario.

Trolls are everywhere.

It says the city Health Department laucned the app, so I would speculate they are distributing them. That means they bought them. Tax payer money is what this comes down to.

I'm sure the people of New York City are a lot more farsighted and see the benefit in contributing an insignificantly small amount of their taxes to this now rather than having to pay a vastly larger amount later on to help care for the children of unwanted pregnancies and patients suffering from avoidable STDs. It will also help reduce abortions.

Never mind the fact that the condoms are already being purchased and have been for a couple decades now, and the app simply makes sure more people are aware of their availability and where to find them, which in turn probably reduces a lot of waste when the condoms expire.

But hey, TAXES!!! Carry on.

Oh I get that there are different types of condoms in general, I was just wondering if the free ones have a lot of variety or are the same as the kind you buy in the store, or what.

They're just basic condoms. They come in a regular condom package and do the job of a regular condom. No, they don't have crazy varieties or ribs or friction-activated lubes, but they get the job done.

umm.. isn't that ribbon stapled to the condom?!

That's the joke.

Anyway, I've never trusted free condoms for the reasons outlined here, you don't know where they've come from or what's happened to them. How is that any different than the ones bought at the store? I suppose I feel there's more (perceived) degrees of control between the manufacturer and the store than there is between the manufacturer and some envelope I just got in the mail, or something I just picked up out of a basket in a clinic.
