Frakes in Hide and Q - believable performance?!?

What's more baffling about "older" Wesley is that his voice is exactly the same. Congrats, Wes. Riker made you 10 years older but forgot to make your balls drop.

And we see one of many instances of Beverly acting like a rabidly over-protective mother with her "Noooo, change him back! I don't want my son to be older!"

This is one of my favorite early episodes from the show. Jonathan Frakes and John de Lancie played so well off each other. And I love this exchange...

Q: "Well if you'll stop interrupting me. This is hardly a time to be teaching you the true nature of the universe. However, at Farpoint we saw you as savages only. We discovered instead that you are unusual creatures in your own limited ways. Ways which in time will not be so limited."
Riker: "We're growing. Something about us compels us to learn, explore."
Q: "Yes, the human compulsion. And unfortunately for us, it is a power which will grow stronger century after century, eon after eon."
Riker: "Eons...have you any idea how far we'll advance?"
Q: "Perhaps in a future that you cannot yet conceive, even beyond us."

With that last line, Q almost seems a little sad, or at the very least puzzled...and Mr. de Lancie sold it perfectly.

OK Moviefan, there is a rule here (you should read them) about resurrection of long-dead threads. THIRTEEN YEARS is L O N G dead. I’m closing this one, feel free to open a fresh one if you like.
