FOX picks up show with a VERY limited future

I would love to know which part of "about four New York women who are best friends and werewolves." made them think this show would be a hit.

And they're lesbians.
And they run a business together.
And they have a wacky next-door gay male neighbor.
And tonight, on a very special episode of Bitches, an old friend suffers from an incurable disease.

Bitches is being described a drama-comedy about the perils of dating when the change into a werewolf is sparked by feelings of arousal.

Next, on 'Bitches':

FADE IN:

BAR, NIGHT.

A Guy staggers in, flops on a barstool, his clothing torn and bloody, his expression startled.

GUY
Barman, can I have something seriously alcoholic?

BARKEEP
Wow, what happened to you?

GUY
Just been on a date.

BARKEEP
How'd you end up like that?

GUY
Dunno! I was getting on really well with her, then
suddenly... she just turned into this complete bitch!

meanwhile...

INT GIRLS' LAIR, NIGHT

MARCIE
Jody, you shouldn't have gone out with him!
It was never going to work!

JODY
But I'm tired of dating dogs!

If I was more of a Sex In The City viewer, I could throw in some Prada of Blahnik references. And talk a LOT about sex, happiness and self obsession.

Thta's where I think it's going to go, whether it's a comedy, drama or indeed, both.

I don't know, if there's more to it then just "Sex in the City" but with werewolves, and there's actually some fighting going on with werewolf hunters, and other supernatural things, it might have something.

You've got to give them credit for the creativity in the title, though I think it's a bit... "harsh" of a title though for TV, then again it is Fox.

Hmmm... I may watch it. For the pretty at the least.

Sort of like "Charmed", then, with a dual soap/comedy element and supernatural battling element. That might work. I mean, obviously not, because it's on FOX and will be cancelled three episodes in, but competent people could make this premise work.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

My first instinct was "Ms. Cavemen"!!! :wtf:

But if they go the CW route and gear this thing to the Gossip Girl crowd (and with that title, they most likely are) and make it hilarious and over-the-top, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a tidy little hit on their hands. Whether it will be something I can tolerate is another matter...but hey, Reaper roped me in so my tastes aren't too highfalutin.

Somehow I don't see "Bitches" being the final title (and if it is, I'll be very impressed).
Cmon, the title is the best part!

So how long till they do a joke about the Werebitches being French? :p

Yeah, I thought the title was pretty clever but I doubt it'll be allowed on Network TV -even if it IS Fox.

(Fox Network is, by the way, not an acronym like CBS, NBC or ABC.)

I still think this show sounds interesting.

Interesting only for the "sexy" factor.

But interesting none the less.

Sounds like "Howling the Series: Your Sexy Coworker is a Werewolf."

Wonder if Sybil Danning is interested?

Remember waaaay back in early Fox days there was a werewolf show...I think Chuck Connors was in it. Never watched it.

...about four New York women who are best friends and werewolves... going by the title Bitches
:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

I don't care what any of you say, that's pure genius. The show's title, I mean.

I thought this would be a lifetime show, they could pair it with the cop drama where the woman loves a vampire.

That was WEREWOLF.

There was also WOLF LAKE a few years back.

Let's hope this series lasts longer!
