Fox orders Lethal Weapon pilot

The only thing I ever liked Wayans in was The Last Boy Scout, which was written by Shane Black, who wrote Lethal Weapon. I always thought it would've made quite a good TV show (perhaps with Jerry Doyle in the Bruce Willis role?).

As for this, hmmm, not so sure. What made LW special was Black's zinging script, Richard Donner's direction and, arguably above all, the one-off chemistry between Gibson and Glover. There have been many buddy movies before and after but few captured that combination of factors. Maybe this will be another Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Fargo - but I'm not sure.

I love the movies, but I'm not sure about this proposed TV show. Gonna give it a try, though. And hey, even if it's terrible, it's not like we lose the movies.

Well, OK, but can it get much better (and funnier) than this?

Rubbers, rubbers, rubbers...:techman: :guffaw:

they already did a TV show: it was called L.A. Heat. Or at least it really wanted to be Lethal weapon the series ....

I don't get the need for a TV show to call itself Lethal Weapon or Training Day other than for the name recognition. It's not like the movies were anything unique in concept, unlike Limitless or Minority Report.

I'm too old for this crud.

I have an unnatural love for the Lethal Weapon movies. Riggs is the name I've used on a lot of websites, and it's apart of my email address. The premise could be done right, but I can't imagine network TV doing this justice at all.

I absolutely love the Lethal Weapon movies. I'll definitely be curious to check this out, though I won't be expecting much. I guess this is a minority opinion but I thought 4 was the best movie.

This thing sinks or swims on two things: 1, the casting of Riggs, which will have to be perfect, and 2, the chemistry between said actor and Wayans. I've never been a fan of Damon Wayans (at all), but I'm willing to give the show a chance if it gets everything else right.

Could Mel come back as a surprise Supporting Character as Captain Ed Murphy?
