Found: 11 billion year old planetary system

That is really cool. It's fascinating to see that a star and planetary system so old is so close to our own. I mean, 117 light years? That's just down the street, relatively speaking.

Mod, I managed to post this post twice, please eliminate the doppelganger.

Thanks.

Done. ;)

For future reference: It's always nice to add some thoughts of your own in the initial post instead of just posting a link with no further comment. ;)

It encourages discussion.

Yah, my phone was at 6% so had just enough juice to post.

One of my thoughts on this (note this is a random thought from a non scientist) is just how long after the formation of the 1st stars did the 1st
planets form. There's the planet nicknamed Methuselah, this multi-planet system, the universe never ceases to amaze.
