Ford's new deal? Han in episode seven in return for 2 IJ films

Fantastic news (if confirmed to be true)! Sign me up, I'll be there for all three films.
He wasn't too old for Indy in 2007 when they filmed Crystal Skull, but he might be too old for him now. They should've just done the Indy sequels in the late 90's/early 00's, before the advent of Shia LeIdiot. There are SOOOO many things they could've done with Indy, but the sequel was delayed because Lucas had a hard-on for his alien story and the idea was so bad, 3 scriptwriters couldn't get it right. I know Ford keeps in great shape and can still fit into his original Raiders costume....but at this point the story better be damn good because Crystal Skull was horrible after the first half hour.
Time was I'd be hugely excited for this, but now? If you keep Lucas and Shia out of the loop, and actually send Indy on an epic quest of discovery, it might work. I won't hold my breath.
As for Episode VII, was there ever a chance he would actually decline? Heck no. He's at the stage of his career where he's having fun. I'm sure he was always going to return as Han, and this time, he told the screenwriters/JJ Abrams "I'll come back if you give Han a hero's death," since he always wanted Han to die in the original trilogy.

Agreed. Others can bicker about his age all they want, but I for one am thrilled to see more Indiana Jones and Han Solo.

I'd love to see Ford as Indy again, as long as they give him a decent story, bring back the gritty action, and dial wayback on the cheesy humor.
Watching a little of Cowboys & Aliens on cable the other night, he still looked in really good shape. And that was only from two years ago. So I don't think there will be a problem there.

Perhaps, after the next two films, they will recast the role (quite likely, given Hollywood's need to keep franchises alive). Fillion would be a good choice, too. But until then, I'll enjoy two more Ford-driven (teehee) Indy flicks.
Nathan Fillion is too fat. I don't think he can get into Indy/Mal shape anymore. He must be on some medication that causes weight gain because he's been husky since season 3 of Castle. 71 or no, Harrison Ford is ripped. He can still play Indy...I would've just preferred that they do these films back when he was in his 60's. But if this is true and they are coming....then they better be good story-wise. And they better hurry up because he'll be 74-75 by the time it's all done.
If they ever recast the character, my top choice is Joe Flanigan from Stargate Atlantis. Not the best actor in the world, but neither is Ford, and he's got the look, the mood, the mannerisms...he'd be perfect.

Disney will greenlight anything that will make them money, and they're rolling in it. People flock to every single piece of crap-on-celluloid that comes under the Marvel banner (yeah, I said it), and those films are multiplying like rabbits in heat. Pixar's quality has declined since 2009, but they're still good for a good haul worldwide. The 4th Indiana Jones film made $300m+ domestic, which was considered pretty great for 2008 (for a terrible movie, btw), before Avatar and 3D inflated box office numbers and changed what was considered a "good" domestic gross. I think Indy is still a bankable property. People still love it worldwide. Any Indy film is likely to bank 3x its budget, easy, if you factor in worldwide gross.
Plus, Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford. At this point he can do what he wants in Movieland, and he knows that the studio wants the original trio from the original Star Wars to return. If he says "I'll agree to do Star Wars if you agree to more Indy," you bet they'll agree.
I would love to see more Indy. And I hope Han does die in Episode VII. That would be powerful.

I love Fillion, but I just never saw him having enough of an edge to be Indy. Maybe the more loveable Last Crusade-style Indy, but if they were to ever recast the role, I'd hope it was the darker and edgier Indy of Raiders they were going for. And I just don't see Fillion being that (even back in his Firefly days).
Would love to see a spoof where Indy raids the Disney vault. 
I'm happy with the amount of Indy and Han that we've gotten. I'm so burned out from the internet saying, "HELLZ YEAH, more INDY" and then turning around screaming "CRYSTAL SKULL IS THE SUCKS"
