Depends on the project. I try not to contradict previous books, especially if I know I'm overlapping with someone else's stuff, as in the case of the MIRROR UNIVERSE stuff. But, yeah, I rely heavily on the editors to let me know if, say, Dave Mack and I aren't on same page regarding recent Vulcan politics or something. In some cases, this requires some frantic rewriting . . . !
