For the love of the Enterprise....

Some of the shots are good, some have an overuse of grain and then there's a weird "aura" around the ship in some shots. Very hit or miss.

The model is really nice, however.

As an aside, have they already fallen back on using the deflector dish as a big gun?

The texturing choice makes the ship look kind dirty. And a number of the shots are awkwardly animated, especially the sudden speed jumps. Particle effects always betray the 1960s look.

My streaming is a little jerky, but even I can tell the motion is fine in the actual product. And the images themselves look great to me. :bolian:

Thats what I thought. I could quibble about the deflector effect or one or two small things looking too contemporary, but the rest of it is amazing.

His choice of music is interesting, too.

I'd love to see him do the Klingon battle cruiser.

Something that TOS pioneered, as seen in "The Paradise Syndrome". :D

*EFIT* Oh, and Vimeo sucks! In my experience, I've never gotten a smooth playback out of Vimeo.

Not so fast. In "The Paradise Syndrome" they fired a deflector beam, but you never saw from where on the ship it emerged (remastered version notwithstanding). It wasn't a "gun" per se. When they then tried the phasers, THAT was a gun. :)
