Very nice price for the box set. The price i s only good for today.

If you haven't seen Angel, I'd highly recommend as a darker, more mature batman-esque type show with incredible writing, humor and character development.

Season 1 is pretty shaky in places but by Season 2 it's going pretty strong and Season 3-4 is some of the best TV I've seen.

Anyway, just a heads up for those interested.

I would like to go back in time and return all of my first-issue DVD releases that I bought for around $40 each right about now.

Excellent show that's a steal at this price. It's my favorite of the Joss Whedon shows that got more than half a season. Without spoiling too much, Wesley's character arc is unbelievable.

In my book, his arc is second only to the Londo/G'kar character arcs of Bab 5. Wesley is easily in my top 5 characters from all shows.

In no particular order:

G'kar, Londo, Wesley, Garak(DS9), Walter Bishop(Fringe), Picard.

Honorable Mentions: Gul-Dukat (until season 7), Lorne(Angel), Spike, Oz, Illryia, Sawyer (lost).

I love Angel and it was a nice opportunity to buy the whole series , which I didn't miss.
Thanks.

I imagine this is because the repackaged Buffy and Angel series sets are coming out next week, which make absolutely no sense. "Hey, it's the exact same thing in an even bigger box!" :wtf: Yeah, umm, great. How about you go and start working on the Blu-ray sets instead. I'll hang onto my compact cube sets in the meantime.

I think I'll pass the buy (I rarely buy DVDs to begin with), but I cannot let slip an opportunity to declare my undying love for the show. Simply superb.

Amen, let's have Buffy/Angel special editions with deleted scenes restored and commentaries on every single ep!

Yeah, I already have all five seasons (picked them up when they were selling for $20 each), but that's a fantastic deal. It'd be well worth it for anyone interested in the show to pick it up at that price.

What are these repackaged sets you're talking about? I don't see them listed on any stores? Is it for Region 1?

Repackaging is a way of life for DVDs. Here's Movie A with no special features. Now here's Movie A with special features. Now here's Movie A again because the sequel is coming out with new special features but we're dropping some of the other special features.

The link you provided says Buffy comes with a new disc of new bonus features. Did the previous Angel box set come with a companion booklet?

Judging by the contents, it's the same disc that came with the previous series set. Same with the Angel booklet. So nope, nothing new.

Dat be true. Season 3 really had me feeling for the guy,

This sounds like a bad idea. Although some eps without commentaries could benefit from them and others could do with additional commentaries, I think that this is a case where less can be more. With Buffy and Angel the commentaries tend to be judiciously chosen. The overuse of commentaries tends to result in lacklustre reviews and a lack of attention to the important stuff, in my opinion.
