For Emmy Consideration ...

Rami won for Robot in 2016. Moss won for Handmaid in 2017.
Okay. Then as anti-climactic as this will sound coming from me, that's good to know.

Then it's nice to know that if nominated, and Patrick Stewart doesn't win, at least he had a fair shot.

Spending three decades thinking of things being a certain a way, sorry for not accepting the possibility right away. I did some looking up myself and see that you're right. I don't believe in moving goalposts, I hate it, so I'm not going to move goalposts myself when the situation applies to me.

As I've said on other forums, I championed this show and on the whole for a modern sci-fi it did the job but let's be honest, noone is worthy of an Emmy nomination, not one performance stood out.Patrick Stewart did in moments but on the whole this is nowhere near Emmy calibre mainly due to some poor writing and of course average performances. As for Discovery, only Jason Isaacs character has been a standout...in fact possibly him and at a stretch Anson mount a distant second. But again, see better call Saul for an ensemble cast which are at the very top of their game consistently.

For the record, my favorite show is currently Better Call Saul. I like it better than Discovery or Picard. I'm also a huge fan of the recently-ended Orange Is the New Black.

Earlier, for me, it wasn't about whether or not Patrick Stewart should win, it was about whether or not he could if he were the best actor of the lot. If he isn't, and he doesn't win, then fine. But if he is, and he didn't win anyway, that would've been where I would've had the issue. If he had a shot at winning, but just lost to someone better, then that's different. Fair's fair.

EDIT: And anyone familiar with my posting history knows I wasn't a TNGer. In fact, in Kirk vs. Picard Debates in the '90s, I always sided with Kirk. So it's not exactly like, "Oh! Hey! I was the Founder of the Patrick Stewart Club! Look at me! Engage!" I had to re-familiarize myself the series before Picard. But his performance in PIC really did sell me.
