Food you hated as a child

Had to look it up since I only know offal as a swear word somewhat.. but organ foods, ew. Only eat some chicken liver every now and then, plus some liver wurst (hey I live next to germany!!). Nothing else.

Though honestly, I would not mind eating heart muscle. I cut bovine or lamb heart up every now and then for my cat (he loves those) and besides from being very tough meats they don't seem very bad.

But no, no offal for me. Isn't eaten a lot here as well, just the livers.

On one hand, as a kid, I thought I didn't like stuffing/dressing, or rice. I love both now.

On the other hand, I STILL hate broccoli, spinach, asparagus and brussel sprouts.

On the gripping hand, even though I hate those things, as a trained chef I cook them well enough that people who DO like them compliment me on my cooking.

Indeed. Yummy.

Now andouillette is another matter entirely. Just couldn't get past lips.
By contrast, true andouillette is rarely seen outside France. All have a strong, distinctive odor related to their intestinal origins and components. Although sometimes repellant to the uninitiated, this aspect of andouillette is prized by its devotees.

I never could and cannot eat cheese, unless it's melted or on something else. I also cannot eat eggs unless they're scrambled.

Meatloaf
Mashed Potatoes
Macaroni & cheese (I was good with the mac, just not with the cheese on it)

Generally, any mishmash of various foods was not good for me. And it was all over if foods accidentally mixed on my plate.

This didn't go away til I was like 19. And I still dislike foods mixing when they're not supposed to.
