Florence Henderson always struck me as a cool lady--she was talented, sweet and had a surprisingly "salty" sense of humor.
Florence Henderson always struck me as a cool lady--she was talented, sweet and had a surprisingly "salty" sense of humor.
She was in my favorite story on Fantasy Island, as TV newswoman Jane Garwood who was convinced she was a jinx. Three men close to her, her TV producer and two suitors, had all died though the producer's body was never found. Convinced that a person was behind this, Mr. Roarke set a trap with himself as the bait playing Garwood's newest love interest.
Long story short, the supposedly dead producer was the villain. He killed the two suitors to preserve Garwood's TV news image which he had created. She might have decided to leave the business, settle down. To avoid being suspected, he faked his own death. Roarke drew him into the open by having Henderson announce her retirement, to send the producer into a rage and come after Garwood so they could nail him.
