Is there a different Chevy Chase movie where he pretends to be a lot of different people?
Just that one.
Trailer just dropped. Looks fun. And there’s a bit of a Mad Men reunion
I thought that was James Gunn in the trailer oops
Opens tonight and currently has an 81% rating with the critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which is better than I thought it would be, and no audience score yet. In comparison, the original Fletch is at 77% and Fletch Lives is at 37% with the critics. Both are a little higher with the audiences.

It was pretty good. Definitely more subdued than the original Fletch films in terms of comedy and one liners, but they're not missing, either, as the film has a few sight gags, a bit of slapstick, and silly characters. In this case, I think that "less is more" applies here, and it works pretty well.
I agree Amaris, I enjoyed it as well, and it reminded me more of the books, and retained plenty of humor along with a couple of nods to the original Fletch movie.
There was one minor character that was waaaay too over-the-top, who I didn't care for, but it was a good movie.
It was also nice to see Robert Picardo show up, even if his appearance we extremely brief.

Free streaming for this movie will start Oct. 28 on Showtime.
Welp. Guess I won't be seeing it for a while then.
I'm sure it will show up on Paramount+ eventually
Funny story in a way. well it was funny to me. My friend and I were watching Fellowship of the RIng one night, and after they left the Shire and made it to the inn and Tavern they registered under the name Underhill. Of course I had watched Fletch earlier in the day, and couldn't stop laughing mixing the two up in my mind, about going all the way to Mount Doom and charging it all to the Underhill's American Express card.
Anyway I'm looking forward to this. John Hamm has proven that he can do comedy from 30 Rock to SNL, he is a comedy nerd. and I feel he'll make a great Fletch.

It’s hard not to wish the movie well when you read this story. And I see that Glen Powell from Top Gun: Maverick quote-tweeted the Variety story to add that Hamm took the “young guns” from that film out for dinner & let them all know that his trailer door was always open for advice or sports games. https://variety.com/2022/film/news/...ry-pay-confess-fletch-filming-1235381017/amp/
