Flashpoint 2 - Yay or Nay?

Found another.

BLEEDINGBADLY Unlocks "F.T.E." Mission.

I can't seem to find what the code has unlocked. The game confirmed the code had worked, but I can't find the new mission in any of the menus.

Just found out that entering BLEEDINGBADLY is a way of Unlocking ALL the missions and is NOT a mission itself.

Sorry about the confusion.

Ah, that explains it then. I was starting to think the game was jipping me out of an extra mission.

When I entered "BLEEDINGBADLY" I got a new mission dealing with destroying some armor. It is pretty cool, but I got my butt handed to me.

Just been on Flashpoint 2 forums and came across these 2 pieces of news...

The 1st patch is due out in the 1st week of November

Codemasters has revealed it will be bringing sequels to three of its major releases from this year...Ashes 2009, Dirt 2 and Operation Flashpoint 2

A sequel by the end of Q4 2010 :wtf: I know you have an engine in place but with the amount of bugs that the 1st one had and the time that will be needed to fix that...a sequel in less than 12 months.

NOT A CHANCE. Now I wouldn't mind a Battlefield 2 type Flashpoint game with no AI players and the ability to actually explore the dam map.

I hope the sequel lives up to the hype. This game has really turned out to be a big disappointment:

I thought I could free roam and jump into helicopters and all sorts of vehicles, but so far I have only jumped into a couple of armored vehicles and no helicopter flying for me yet. I've ignored missions and free roamed, but there was nothing to do but run around.

Also the missions seem unrealistic for a game touting to be "realistic". In real life, there is no way a squad would be tasked to complete all those missions with little to no fire support. Most of the missions could have been easily completed in real life because there would have been naval gunfire and artillery on call.

The one mission where you had to kill the mortar spotting teams in a monestary was stupid. You had to knock out some anti air guns in order to get air support. Well there were a bunch of M1A2 tanks just sitting there that could easily have destroyed them, but noooooo my little squad had to do it all by itself. In real life it would have been, Gunner Heat APC! UP! IDENTIFIED! FIRE! ON THE WAAAAY! Target Cease Fire! As for the mortar rounds, it is hard to direct mortars on a moving target therefore the tanks could easily have attacked the dismount teams on the hill.

Completed it today and what an anti climax and overall apart frm the early missions the game was a letdown. So many bugs piss poor AI at times and I don't see the realism for example...

On the last mission got to take out 2 AA guns and down to last one but no rockets left so AI refuses order to plant C4 on it and its the only unit to have it. We have our squad an APC and heli minigun opening up on it but nothing you CAN ONLY blow it up with rockets or C4 so we had to restart mission. Hit box is broken it takes more than 1 bullet to drop you and your enemies not too metion most things don't tend to blow up properly when hit by an explosive something which was promised originally.

going to do a gamespot review looks like 7.5 score at best

Jax, For the last mission I jumped in an M1 tank and it keeps getting blown up by some guy with a rocket launcher. Totally unrealistic. The M1 has taken multiple hits from Iraq RPGs in real life and can continue to fight so I dont see one in the game getting blown up by one guy with a RPG.

I really had high hopes for this game and waited anxiously for it to come out, but it is a HUGE letdown.

RPG7 (older model) vs. modern chinese AT weapon.. there's a difference.

Personally i find it an enjoyable game.. didn't have any bug problems with my PC version though have a major problem with mission 8 i think.

You have to assault a fuel depot (not the SF mission where you have to blow up a generator) and i'm at the point where you have to flank right and take out the defenses.

Problem is that all the enemies are behind hard cover and therefore hard to hit and there's many of them. I get into a prolonged firefight and one by one my team gets taken out and a frontal rush is also useless.

Any tips?

Being a former tanker, I am very critical of the Abrams on this game. The gun system totally sucks. The reticle gets all jumpy after you lase to a target and it seems as if the rounds dont go to where you were aiming at. I was like "Is this in degraded mode or something because this sure aint acting like a real Abrams would act if all systems are operating normally."

As for the chinese anti tank weapons. I still dont see them taking out a whole tank. Abrams got hit with tank rounds in Desert Strom and still kept moving. Unless the chinese have AT weapons that can attack the top of an Abrams, I dont see them doing much damage. But this also goes back to the AI problems. I was using the coax on the Chinese and they still kept moving and attacking. Totally false. If a m240 coax is spraying your body with lead you aint going to keep shooting and moving. You are going to be either dead or hurt too bad to do anyting. I shot an AT gunner with the coax and he still shot my tank after I shot him.

In Desert Storm when my gunner shot Iraqis with the coax they went down and stayed down. None of them jumped up and fired again at my tank.

Jax, that is why I think the game is unrealistic. A 4 man squad assaulting a fuel depot. In real life that would be at least a battalion size operation with armor in support.

Its pretty clear they did not consult any miliray experts or listen to them. The game is so unrealistic in so many ways they should be shot for using the tagline war through the lens.

oh well am enjoying playing Dead Space so at least thats one 360 game is fun to play ;).

PATHETIC :scream: call that a patch

The fixes are fucking lame...

(360 ones only)

1. The game will now return the correct list of servers after searching a game

2. A corrupted save data bug has been fixed.

3. The game will now automatically unlock the FTE missions when a specific DLC is added to the game.

4. Gameplay online

o The player is now not blocked after healing another soldier as a medic
o If the player fires the SMAW weapon during a PvP game, the sight will now disappear as normal.
o The player can now change weapons after firing a machine gun multiple times
o The PF98 QueenBee weapon does now always have an effect on vehicles for the client
o During a PvP game if the player spawns inside a vehicle, the weapon will now be correctly attached to the player and now float next to the player.
o “Shots Fired” dialogue will now be triggered adequately in the annihilation mode.

5. The inventory UI from the crate or corpse can now be opened correctly when the player is standing at distance.

6. Loading the 1st checkpoint with javelin equipped in the mission Dragon’s fury will not cause a loss of audio in certain instances.

7. If the fireteams are following orders and then the player select an ROE order on all fireteams including themselves the orders will now be spread across all fireteams.

8. The reloading time is now correct when the player is going prone straight after firing a SMAW or Queen Bee weapons.

9. When exiting the credits, the heading will not transition twice.

Also DLC is shite because I don't play multiplayer thats non co-op and the FTE missions are so short/easy and dull. MS if you think am paying for that DLC or any then you are very very wrong and a lot of the community will probably ignore it.

Jax, They sure didnt consult with the military on this game and if they did they must have talked to some loser who served in a non-combat unit. The objectives they give you are crazy. There is no way a four man squad would be tasked to accomplish most of these missions.

Breaking through multiple defense lines by 4 dudes with only one call for fire mission? FALSE! Most units have organic mortar platoons assigned to them so if the artillery is unavailable you can always fall back on your mortars.

Friendly vehicles not really doing anything? FALSE If you have armor support they would be doing more than sitting back basically doing nothing while you get your butt shot off.

The overall feel didnt even fell like a big battle. COD MW has the feel that you were actually part of a larger campaign. This just felt like you were by yourself on this island.

This game is a big disappointment. I stopped playing it and now am anxiously awaiting COD MW2.
