Flashpoint 2 - Yay or Nay?

Made it to the 6th mission and the fun is starting to wane. It is a good tactical game, but all the controls are starting to get on my nerves. In order to change weapons or get a gernade you have to open a small screen then move to what you want to equip it. All this takes time and you are getting shot at the whole time so by the time you get what you want you could be dead.

I also dont like how when I select an anti-tank weapon and it has to be loaded everytime I select it. I'm like, "I loaded this thing before I picked another weapon, why do I have to wait for it to load again.

The friendly AI is pretty stupid. On this mission I ordered them into a wedge and started moving toward the objective. These morons stayed back where I just left and got killed by artillery. The enemy AI is perfect. They will attack you and flank you. I think there are also too many controls when it comes to controlling your AI. In the heat of battle I aint got time to figure out which button to hit to make these guys do what I want. I have died many of times trying to figure out what to do to make them flank the enemy or surpress them.

I'm on mission 9 at the moment, and I'm loving every minute of this game. Got no problem with the controls, and am well used to the orders radials now, and with the map, issuing orders in the field is a doddle. Gotta say, mission 9 is a toughie - trying to take out AA emplacement and navigate up a mountain whilst under almost constant mortar fire is a real challenge. Fun though.

Played it with 2 human players today and much better game with only 1 AI in your team (always make it medic). Re did mission 1-2-3 and loved every minute.

Had some great moments like on 1st mission we were in Heli and took fire to rotor sent us spinning down but apart from a few injuries we made it safe. 2nd mission we made it to the end sneaking around the patrols until we engaged anyone though 3rd mission hold out at end was great fun. At one time I was down to pistol and come end we were in this small ruins surronded but held.

;)

The PC version is definitely the only one to buy. I'm glad IGN acknowledged this...

My only problem with PC version is I would have to buy a new mouse (on the fritz) and headset to play with friends so that jacks up the price. Also X Box Live comes with the whole party system so easy to make a game and get in it.

Might get it one day for larger versus mode if they made some changes to it like add a dedicated server for it instead of the PvP system in place and make it versus mode well bigger...on the 360 it seems so small and well not that fun.

I've started playing this and am really enjoying it, though I'm finding it a little difficult to actually engage the enemy personally (only up to the 3rd mission). My main problem with friendly AI at the moment is how when I try to get the medic to heal one of my team mates, said teammate seems to try and run away from the medic...:wtf:

Now whenever I see this happen, I imagine something like this:

Medic: Get back here!
Machinegunner: No! You've got a frakking needle!
Medic: You've just been shot! How can this be a problem for you?!?!
Machinegunner: I'm afraid of needles.
Medic: Pussy :shifty:

That or, because of a thread in the TNZ about Don't Ask Don't Tell policy, the medic threatening to give the wounded guy 'teh gayz' in a needle. Make of that what you will.

SilentP, I know what you mean. I try to heal one of my team mates and they start running away from me. I'm like, "Dude STAY!" Eventually I give up and let them die because I aint got time running around under fire trying to heal them.

So this is an good co-op experience? I really only play co-op games anymore, and my roomies and I are always looking for good ones.

I haven't had the chance yet, but I'd say that the game seems to be the kind that becomes immensely more enjoyable when you have a real life mate fighting alongside you, for the tense moments. Should also helpfully deal with faulty AI moments ;)

Yep. My friend and I are very much the same when it comes to games. The campaign itself is short and the multiplayer doesn't exactly last forever, but the core gameplay is solid. I'd say definitely rent it if you own and XBOX or PS3 and maybe buy when it hits $20 on PC. It's already on sale for $40, but that's a bit steep considering what you get.

This game is pretty realistic, but what is UNREALISTIC is when you shoot a chicom it takes 5-6 shots to kill him. This aint real. In Iraq when I shot Iraqis once they just fell on the ground, they didnt stay in the same position and keep shooting at me.

Found another.

BLEEDINGBADLY Unlocks "F.T.E." Mission.

I can't seem to find what the code has unlocked. The game confirmed the code had worked, but I can't find the new mission in any of the menus.

Just found out that entering BLEEDINGBADLY is a way of Unlocking ALL the missions and is NOT a mission itself.

Sorry about the confusion.

I don't know if difficulty level affects this, but I didn't think that it was taking that many round to kill them. Well maybe I shoot at them that many times, but I think the few rounds that did actually hit them usually downed them in 1 or 2 hits. Beware of their medics and the like healing them though.
