Re: FlashForward: "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps" 10/29 - Grade/Disc
I was enjoying this episode, up until the last ten minutes or so. Millions are dead, nations are on edge... I know, let's throw some dishes and then have a long, sappy musical interlude. Ugh. Mark is such a prissy little bitch. At least Olivia is trying to work through it, instead of just throwing tantrums. Since he's the lead there's no point hoping he'll be killed off, but I do hope he'll spend more time at work, where he's at least competent, and less time at home, where he's downright risible.
Looks like they're still refusing to outright contradict a flashforward by giving Janis some wiggle room with her damaged uterus. I figured that would happen at the end of the last episode, and again when she went back under the knife, but I'm mildly annoyed that they pulled back instead of going all the way. Meanwhile, the kidnap theory is out--the kids are hanging around the household, not looking particularly upset, and have either been there a while or Charlie's been told they're moving in permanently. It does make me wonder about Charlie's previous ominous hints about her flashforward--'no more good days', 'D. Gibbons is a bad man', etc, since nothing seemed amiss in the parts we did see and, where Simcoe was already on the couch when his son passed by, there can't be much more than a minute left to their vision.
I must say, when I first noticed that it was a Jewish cemetary, I thought they were going to try and link it back to that Kabbalah nonsense from a few episodes back. Glad that turned out to just be a coincidence.
And what's up with that guy on the bus? "I will end you." Nothing like death threats to spice up a trip on the old public transit system. Hope the driver called the cops.
Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman
