Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

So is Norrington going to get lucky with Mark's wife?

Yeah but it still does not feel right for some reason, feels a bit forced.

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

Well, that solves the Somalia "did they or not" plot point. I wonder how she found out so soon.

The whole VP and Wedeck plotting to take over the government thing and using Aaron to do so gives some semblance of sense to his storyline of going up against Jericho.

Lloyd and Olivia...eh, I think it stinks but I guess they just think they get along together better than her and "Mr. Intensity".

Oh No! Noe! :p

I hope he's just unconscious!

D. GIBBONS!!!!!!!! *shakes fist*

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

Obviously, Frost/Gibbons has Mark's gun. Still curious just why Demitri's a target.

Can't wait for Rambo to reach Afghanistan. Should be awesome.

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

Wedeck's storyline comes back?
Demetri decides to cheat fate by leaving town?
Aaron gets to Afghanistan in a semiplausible way? (Only semi, because James Remar tripling his nonexistent security wouldn't be noticed by anyone.:))

Some of the seemingly irrational actions or nonactions of characters haven't been due to the writers being clueless, it seems. It's due to them stringing out the action to fill up twenty two episodes. As in we see nothing significant with Janis and don't see Campos at all.

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

Janis being the mole and Campos himself don't need to be in EVERY episode. After last week's revelation I suppose the writers figured it was okay to put the focus on someone else and then get back to them next week.

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

The wife/scientist affair is forced and really, really stupid.

Why did that black guy kill himself if the main cast is just going to go along with whatever they saw in their FF?

Bearded Dad is absolutely sure he'll find his daughter in Afghanistan.

Sulu waits till the last possible moment to just run the fuck away instead of wasting time hunting down his murder weapon. Oops.

Doctor Wife appears to be ready to fall in love because the possibility exists that she could fall in love. Um, no shit lady, you could bump into random people on the street with whom you might fall in love if you gave them a chance, does that mean you toss your husband to the curb and give it a go? WTF? Not to mention, in that timeline, your husband supposedly gets killed. Nice.

Clearly, deliberate action or inaction is necessary to ensure some FF come true, but there's no way to know what that is (Hello, Somali Warlord. You chose poorly. No presidency for you.). The moment everyone saw the future, they irrevocably changed the future. Not to mention they all saw variations of different futures.

At least Candystriper and Suicide Doc got bored with their futures and chose differently ... or did they? All the near misses imply to me that the Hot Japanese Engineer will end up with Suicide Doc in the end.

Unless the show is cancelled. Oh, wait.

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

Pretty decent ep - this show gets better the more it focuses on Dimitri (now that they have possibly - but probably not - ruined the character of Janice, who will soon be revealed to be a double-agent mole for the FBI in fine 24 fashion).

Nice to see that Dimitri at long last decided just to LEAVE the place where he is supposed to be murdered. Should have done that long before now, and even if he de-camped for Hawaii, he could have been kidnapped and dragged back to LA. At least he wouldn't seem like such a dope.
It seems that a large number of the characters are accepting (or believing) the inevitability of the FFs coming true.
Which. Makes. No. Sense. Ever since Goff killed himself (and someone in the whole world would have done that much much earlier, so this whole premise makes no sense).

Maybe I haven't been paying attention. :rommie: Did they have sex or not? I thought it was not?

The wife/scientist affair is forced and really, really stupid.

I can just barely buy it because the guy playing Lloyd is very attractive and Agent Nutcase is not attractive at all and is actually pretty tiresome. Olivia is looking for an excuse to get out of her dysfunctional marriage.

Re: FlashForward: "Let No Man Put Asunder" 1/15/10 - Grading & Discuss

Really? I consider Mark to be a guy who is basically a little burnt out due to his field of work, but not unattractive.

Anyways, there seem to be forces at play that are trying to ensure that the FFs happen and it seems that the individual people who WANT their FFs to happen are somehow affecting things in their way so that the other unwanted FFs happen whether those other people want them to or not.

Mark's kinda creepy. Lloyd's way hotter. :D

Like the universe is conspiring to make the FF's happen? If so, this show hasn't conveyed that idea at all. It really hasn't gotten that metaphysical.

Where did they find a turkey baster and porn in Somalia, or did they do the horizontal/vertical mambo?

It's all very inconclusive. Maybe it was immaculate conception? Demitri seemed to be a bit surprised by Janice's announcement.
