FLASH series being developed for The CW

In the 1990 TV pilot, he had an older brother named Jay who was killed...an obvious nod to Garrick.

Anyone complaining about Iris' race switch?

I don't mind -- but Barry & Felicity had some good chemistry in the 2 episodes they had together...it'd be a shame for them trash it...but hopefully these two have chemistry, and we'll forget it.

I'm sure someone is, but maybe most of them are too busy complaining about Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm. Or about the Super Bowl Coke commercial.

Really, there have been so many originally white characters played by nonwhite actors at this point -- going back to Eartha Kitt's Catwoman in the 1960s -- that it's bizarre the way people react each time as though it were inconceivable and had never happened before.

Well, the descriptions say that Barry and Iris are best friends, at least for now. Iris's father Detective West (Jesse L. Martin) has been described as a surrogate father figure for Barry, so he may think of her more as a sister.

For what it's worth, Barry and Iris are still just friends in the New 52 version of the Flash comic, and we only saw Iris in a few episodes of the 1990 show if I'm not mistaken.

They probably just want to take their time to ramp up to a relationship, if that's even where they want to take it.

It will be interesting to see how Flash develops style wise in it's story telling. Hopefully it won't ape Arrow for too long before finding it's own narrative style.

The producers decided that her presence complicated Barry's love life too much. They wanted to have a sexual tension between Barry and Tina McGee. But also have relationships with other women who were guest stars.

Surely the fasted man alive should be capable of juggling a mere 4 women?

(They barely had him hooking up with guest stars.)

Yup. Plenty of other pilot girlfriends have suffered the same fate, written out so the heroes could be free to have romance-of-the-week stories and/or tension with their female leads.

Although it worked pretty well in the case of the '90 The Flash, since Iris was kind of a flake and Megan Lockhart was a much cooler love interest.

I'm really curious to see the costume for this Flash. The comic version is a hard thing to make look good in real life. While the one from the 90's Flash looked pretty good it always bugged me that it looked impossible for one person to put on by themselves.

i think this Barry is the kind who likes to take it slow when it comes to relationships...he seems to nice a guy to be a player. And we already have that with Oliver Queen & Bruce Wayne...

But I thought the Flash is known as the Fastest Man Alive?

I think he's a child (19 or 20 years?) who has had his head in a book since he was 12 and never had the opportunity to play the field or be swarmed on by women who recognize a good catch.

Between Badge Bunnies and Cape Bunnies, Barry will be batting them off with a stick.
