Fix the episode: "Spock's Brain"

I like this episode but if I were to "fix" it: I'd retcon it by turning the women who stole his brain into Vidiians (see Voyager), suffering from a less progressed version of the 'phage', their plague. The women and men wouldn't be like children but rather dangerous adversaries who try to outsmart the E.crew. A fire fight happens and one of the women is shot and dies. Bones shouts "this her, beam out the brain!!,- beam the brain and spock to sickbay! - make sure you beam the brain into his head!!" Bones rushing after them to perform neurosurgery. The villains escape but Spock survives :)

"Somebody help the captain."

Any version that doesn't inclued "Brain and brain! What is brain?" simply isn't worth it.

I agree with this post 100%!

How about a dark and gritty redo....

They take Spock's whole head! There's green blood all over the place. The only way they can save him is to transplant the head onto the shoulder of Dr. McCoy and for the rest of Season 3 he's always arguing with himself. Chekov screams!
Uhura leads a team of all women security officers to the surface and there's a huge battle with the Eymorg, there's 'splosions and Blood and guts and ass are everywhere!

I really don't want to fix this one, sorry.

Here's an idea...

Instead of the tragically silly notion of the alien attacking the Enterprise, rendering the entire crew unconscious, and then surgically stealing Spock's brain by itself, was not have the Eymorg steal Spock, body and all, and show his body encased in the Eymorg nexus. It would be McCoy's job to find a way to remove it. That solves most of the problems with the episode right there. The whole Morg vs. Eymorg thing would have to go as well; it makes no sense for some members of a society to be flying around in a super-advanced starship while others live like cavemen.

There's part of this that works. Reminds me of The Great Machine we saw on Babylon 5 that needed a living person to function and remain stable.
