First peek at Xmas Idents

Indeed they are. Very nice and funny, although it's surprising the Doctor still loves Christmas with all the bad things happening on that day he always gets involved in.

I also liked the Buzzcocks clip on that site. Catherine Tate has as much a grasp on Doctor Who as my Mum, who's also under the impression the Doctor is actually called Mr. Who.

Actually, I do seem to recall a "Mr. Who" that traveled in a TARDIS and was a doctor.

Bearing in mind she may have been joking, she's in good company. Aside from your mum, it's also known that Sophia Myles had to be schooled that the Doctor's last name is not Who.

Two more promos - obviously shot at the same time as the idents - have just been released by the BBC on it's YouTube channel. They feature Tennant, as the Doctor, wishing viewers a Merry Christmas (I like the joke in the second one).

No way of knowing if these are destined for the DVD/Blu-Ray set. The Doctor Who News Page reported that the 4 idents were cleared for release by the British film classification board, but there was no mention of these:

PS. I checked and the two clips should be viewable outside the UK.

Awesome! I'm going to use one as my facebook status.

Just saw one on BBC America this afternoon! So, they are running here as well.

best wishes,

And no one ever told Ian Stuart Black, Gerry Davis, or Innes Lloyd! ;)

Or the guy who put together the credit scroll from 1963 to 1981! ;)

It's sort of become a "you don't talk about Fight Club" type of in-joke, I think. I mean, everyone uses the name Doctor Who in the context of the character name: "Matt Smith is the new Doctor Who"; "When I was cast as Doctor Who, I was very happy"; "Tom Baker returns as Doctor Who for a new adventure, The Talons of Weng-Chiang", etc. But the fact diehards know the man's name is not Doctor Who (nor is it The Doctor, really) is almost like a secret handshake between fans!

How aware of BBC America idents are you, wamdue? ;)
:guffaw: um, im not what you might call "fully informed" but I figured if BBCAm was using the same theme as BBC 1, I would have heard about it somewhere, somehow.

edit

ok I have now been on YouTube and it turns out that BBCAm is too cheap to make its own idents, and is using the BBC One idents. Excuse me for thinking that BBCAm was enough of its own channel to make its own idents.

Has anyone seen any of the other idents? I've seen the Doctor and reindeer pulling his Tardis and I've seen the one with the reindeer breathing on the camera, but I haven't seen the other two yet. Anyone else?

Loving this years idents. Absolutely awsome.

Caught the Tardis Sleigh one the other night.

Great, just the expression on The Doctors face when he strolls upto the Tardis, then has the brain wave. LOL

Im trying to make an avatar at the mo, watch this space.

:techman:

Well, lol, its kinda crappy. Had to shorten it a lot as it was way too big.

Im a photoshop novice, so ive made an edited version, just with the Doctor finding the Tardis burried.

Never mind.
