Bond didn't ruthlessly kill people! It was the french man, and the runner, etc, that DID. Honestly. Bond is not a killer. It's his job to kill. I don't see how he's become cold blooded at the end of the movie when it's his JOB to be cold blooded.

Cold-hearted. He became cold-hearted by the end of the film. You cannot deny Vesper's death not having an effect on him. It did.

And Bond is a killer. Whether it is his job to kill or not. He still kills. So, he kills bad guys. That doesn't take away from the fact that he chooses to end lives.

And he ruthlessly killed Dryden and the other target at the beginning of the film. He did that to advance in his profession. That seems pretty cold-blooded to me. That his job requires him to be that way.
 
Yeah, Bond was affected by Vesper's betrayal. Who wouldn't be? She was his confident throughout the film, but she did love him. As M says, she left the number behind so Bond could find her.
 
In comparison to most of the previous Bond films Casino Royale is a grittier, more realistic portrayal of the sort of hard-edged man it takes to be a government agent tasked with assassinations.
 
Bond was cool in the first two movies, then in Goldfinger, someone had a stupid idea that Bond should be a blockbuster movie and have super stunts and car chases every ten seconds.

Pretty much. At least Casino Royale returned Bond to the type of character he was in Dr. No and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
 
Deadline Hollywood has early word on the Friday estimates: Get Smart took an estimated $14 million, which should lead to a weekend in the high 30s or just over 40. The Love Guru is a flop, with a $5 million Friday that will likely lead to a mid-teens opening.

The Incredible Hulk and The Happening are both on track to drop by about 64-66% in their second weekends. The Incredible Hulk has an estimated $6.2 million for Friday, which should lead to a weekend of about $20 million. The Happening has a Friday estimate of $3.1 million, which should lead to a weekend of about $10 million.

Edit to add: Deadline Hollywood has updated their Friday estimates - $13.3 million for Get Smart, $5.3 million for The Love Guru, $6.6 million for The Incredible Hulk, $3.2 million for The Happening. The drop for TIH could be more like 60% with this revised number.

Most superhero movies tend to drop big in it's second weekend. Even Iron Man dropped 48.1% in the second weekend. We have to see how it does in the next few weeks to determine if it's a modest sucess or disappointment.
 
Yeah, I don't see how it could fare well with such blockbusters as WALL*E, Hancock, Hellboy II and The Dark Knight. Especially since three of those four films are either superhero films or have superhero undertones. Heck, even WALL*E speaks to a similar audience that The Incredible Hulk desires.
 
I love how Iron Man has surpassed $300 million domestic and $551 million worldwide. Half a billion dollars in box office sales alone. :D

Box Office Mojo has the weekend estimates up:

1. Get Smart - $39.155 million
2. Kung Fu Panda - $21.7 million (- 35.4% for $155.596 million so far)
3. The Incredible Hulk - $21.557 million (- 61.1% for $96.476 million so far)
4. The Love Guru - $14 million
5. The Happening - $10 million (- 67.2% for $ 50.267 million so far)
6. Indiana Jones and TKOTCS - $8.414 million (- 42.9% for $290.835 million so far)

9. Iron Man - $4 million (- 28.8% for $304.788 million so far)
 
The Incredible Hulk took a 61% plunge in its second week, earning $96.5 million in two weeks, still $4 million behind where 2003's Hulk was five years ago. While not such a massive drop as Hulk, this film is still behind it in terms of gross.

I'm having this sinking feeling that The Incredible Hulk won't even surpass 2003's Hulk, which is saying something. I think a domestic gross of $140 million -- as predicted by some -- is a bit far-fetched now.
