First look at "The Green Hornet"

Re: GREEN HORNET Trailer and New Images

I see forced writing, situations that don't seem to work, ZERO chemistry between the leads, and some unecessarily flashy garbage added to make it Hollywood. A skipper. I wanted to stop the trailer just 15 seconds in.

Seems like Kato is the actual hero and Green Hornet the sidekick, I suppose that's the joke...but it's been done before in Big Trouble in Little China.

And in Without A Clue, where Dr. Watson is the genius and 'Sherlock Holmes' is a character he created, played in public by a washed up drunk actor.

I enjoyed the trailer and being a fan of the original 60's show (and it's theme song which was last used in the Kill Bill duo logy). I'm not totally sold on Seth's take on Bret Reid but the overall film seems solid. Digging the take on Kato too. I'll be checking it out.

I'm going to travel across parallel universes to watch the Greg Kinnear version of Green Hornet and the George Clooney version of Green Hornet and get back to y'all on it. :)

So is this going to be a flat-out comedy, or will it be at least partly serious?

i think it will be partly serious, just playing up the comic parts for the trailer.

The trailer DOES seem TOO comic...but if they show a real evolution from a Paris Hilton-type of spoiled brat (Rogen seems to do a perfect frat boy) into a real hero (and for a reason), i just might like it.

i am willing to give it a shot, pending reviews that give a better take on the overall tone.

They say it's an action movie with some comedy in it.

Given the character arc they've given to the Britt Reid character, there's a good chance Rogan could actually do a good job. I wonder if they will reference the fact that his great uncle was the Lone Ranger?

^ Well he more or less played the only "adult" character in Funny People. I never saw Donnie Darko.

Yeah it's going to be a comedy/action superhero flick. "Funny People" I hear he had a more serious role as Aragorn just indicated.

I have long been a fan of Green Hornet. I am SO psyched for this -- I hope it's not a let-down.
