First look at Klingons in 'Star Trek: Discovery'?

in a later conversation he claims it was just a joke.

They may not be klingons (unlikely), but considering that the costumes appear to match what we saw in the DSC teaser, it's gotta at least be from DSC.

The slight amount of the bridge we can see in the teaser shows a bridge that is nothing like the Cage. Touchscreens everywhere, low light levels, very blue and dark grey but modern styles, large structural supports dividing key areas.

The uniform take cues from TOS proper, but of greater detail and better materials, so yeah it's only using what little it needs to be Star Trek overall.
Since it's set a decade before TOS, then maybe Discovery itself should be a plastic model hung from string against a fake space backdrop. It seems that in order for it to be a convincing prequel to a 1960s TV series, that's what it will have to take to make fans like you happy.

The original Enterprise was wood tho...

Amasov updating the visuals or changing them is not the same ... I'm so sorry but those who speak about preserving more than 700 episodes of Star Trek do not say it that they should do 60's model work. Let's not fall over with the arguments.
Fuller said they are tweaking aliens. Enterprise tweaked Andorians and it was more than OK. Discovery as it seems is changing the klingons in some generic aliens. This isn't tweaking if these are klingons, this is reinventing them. If this is a full re-boot show, it could be OK, but than they should not say how they respect TOS and this is a prime show. Watch the Trekyards video, it pretty much sums up many of our opinions.

I still reserve my judgment to after the first few episodes aired, but I don't think I will like these klingons if this will be the basic Klingon race for Discovery.

Why not?

We're talking about something that isn't real. It's fiction. So, updating the look of a starship vs an updating to an alien species isn't more acceptable than the other. The only reason it's acceptable that the Enterprise was redesigned for The Motion Picture is strictly because it is established in dialogue.

I'm one of the people happy it's a reboot...

Maybe there is a better term for it, but Fuller stated enough times they were changing whatever they felt like changing, and from what we've been shown so far, they really mean it.

That's not a reboot. That's a redesign.
