First clip of hologram Janeway!!

Okay,
so D is the commanding officer.
Gwyn is communications officer.
Janeway calls Jankom a Tellarite.
I was hoping that only the preview material would identify him as Tellarite but that the show proper could go the "looks like a Talaxian, is a Talaxian" route.

You would think SF would have programmed Janeway's training hologram to be able to ID the crew, or at the very least notice body language and that these are relatively clearly kids who are fumbling about (especially since they hadn't heard of the Federation)... its not like other 24th century holograms (like the Doctor) were incapable of those things... so she would at least be on his level... and if she's programmed to respond as Janeway would... her reactions, etc. would have basically been identical to the holo Janeway the crew made to defeat the 'Fear clown'.

Or its possible she CAN, but she isn't being forthcoming with the kids.
Too little data atm... will have to wait until I see the whole episode.

It DOES look good... and yes, I alson noticed the jab about her 'smooth forehead' being a possible reference to bumpy headed Trek aliens people kept mentioning throughout the years.

I notice that Holo-Janeway is wearing the ds9 pre-season 5 uniform but the combadge is a newer design.

In what year does Prodigy take place?

Could have been programmed with the older style uniform to honor her captaincy of Voy while it was in the DQ but giving her a new commbadge.
Still, we know Janeway was an Admiral in ST:Nemesis and she wore the new style uniform as seen in DS9 and TNG movies from First Contact onward.
Ah, who knows what the holo designers were going for.

I wonder what the significance of the new combadge is. I assume it has something to do with Protostar's original mission. We know from Lower Decks that Starfleet issues different combadges depending on ship and mission profile, so maybe this is a Starfleet Academy combadge.

The commbadge is similar to the one seen in Lower Decks... just more detailed in Prodigy and golden.
Makes sense since both shows are only a few years apart.

Might be the badge is actually functional (perhaps doubling as a mobile emitter), and therefore of the latest model, while the projection is true to the "Captain" Janeway specs from her heyday...

Still not entirely sold on the show, but am looking forward to giving it a try.

The new badge is for merchandising, not in-universe function. Any justification will come later, likely "it's a prototype ship on a test flight so it gets special badges" or similar. Every show is gonna have it's own badge and uniform.

Not judging, this is literally what Trek has done since the IDIC. Infinite Diversity in Infinite Buy the Pendant Yourself From The Lincoln Catalogue.

Is it just me, or is her mouth jarringly out of sync with the voice work? Here's hoping the finished product will be more smoothly aligned.
