Finished A Time To Harvest

Good book. I was not able to figure out who the villians were until well into the second installment, which was good, it kept me guessing. I have always hoped for some sort of follow up to the war between the Satarran and the Lysians. This back story added a lot to the novel.

The story itself was quite as good as A Time To Sow, but it was still well worth reading and better than the first two A Time To books. I thought the Dokaalans were a very well developed species and really felt for them. Some of the characters were really believable and well drawn. The demise of Hajtyn was unfortunate but moved the story along nicely.

Data seems to be taking a pounding in the A Time To Books.

Just thought I would post a little bit of an update. In the last three days I have been able to get through A Time To Love and A Time to Hate. I thought both of these books were pretty good. I was a little frustrated with the first book (#5), with the mystery of what was happening down on the surface of Delta Sigma IV. The big events in the final pages of A Time To Hate were well worth waiting for. I loved the searching Crusher was going through as she is moving towards making up her mind about the Head of Starfleet Medical position. The death of Kyle Riker was not a surprise, as I had heard about it awhile ago. While his passing wasn't too exciting it is worthy, I like the trend in trek books in recent years which reflects real life.....people do die. And finally, something I had been wondering about since I saw Nemesis....how did the Troi/Riker relationship finally become official.

Looking forward to the last books of the series....
