Finding 'parts'

Ah, reminds me of those old "ShipKits" that used to be all the rage. I created many a ship using those and MSPaint. Anybody happen to have any of those sitting around their hard drives?

Cygnus X-1 has all the old black&white ones Vance put out. He still has his color ones up at his site (Jaynz). You can check my "My parts" page here in this forum for some of my custom parts and mods. You can also find more at

Just dig around in the various threads. You can also sometimes find "harvestable" parts by cleaning up finished ships if you have the time and patience to try that.

Something I learned the hard way: make absolutely CERTAIN when you are harvesting parts or even using parts kits that you clearly know whose they are, and give them credit. I've inadvertently po-d at least one parts maker by getting sloppy on credits, and I'd hate to see it happen to anyone else.

Anyone have neck pieces? That's the one thing many sheets seem to lack for some reason.

Necks are definitely rare (as in I know of maybe a short handful), but a lot of the time they aren't too hard to make, with a little care. Sometimes if you're doing something very close to an existing ship you can copy the neck that way...I've done it with ships that were Connie variants or at least used similar necks.
