Finding lost pictures with url?

Do you have any suggestions how to find pictures from around the webz with an url adress?
I have tried wayback machine with no luck.
After that I have no idea how to proceed.
Stupid of me (around 2006) to believe that if I just have the adress the picture will be there uploaded forever.

If it’s not on the web time machine it’s going to be very hard. You can try to google fir the name of the image, if it’s somewhat unique it might work, but there is no guarantee (and not helpful at all if it’s something “image.jpg”, of course).

or you might google for what’s in the image perhaps (such as “captain Picard with a smiling ghost”)

as long as anyone has any interest in saving it.

Also, the sock that went missing while in the washing machine is probably going to be in your house forever as well, it doesn’t mean you’ll ever find it.

Maybe you could find a message board specifically related to the subject matter of the photo, and describe it to the members there to see if it sounds familiar to anyone. Perhaps somebody saved a copy.
