FINALLY!!!!!

K-Star

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
After three long weeks, the combadge and rank pips I ordered for my costume came in the mail!!!

Shirt with everything on it:

I think I might've put the velcro square for the combadge a bit too far to the left... It's too late to change it I think. (That looked like some serious adhesive on the back...)

Nice. Thats a pretty good realistic looking uniform there. Not like some of the so-obviosusly fake looking ones I've seen fans wear before

Maybe take the glasses off though for added 24th Century realism :)

I find it incredibly hard to believe that NO ONE wore glasses in the 24th century.

If I don't wear my glasses I'm pretty much legally blind, so not wearing them is out of the question.

Well Kirk wore glasses in the 23rd century so that's not too far adrift, and the Malcoians wore glasses, too. Looking good.

Well, I'd guess that by the 24th century most visual problems could be corrected, but who knows? Maybe there's still some out there for whom 24th Century Medicine couldn't correct perfectly. ;) Congrats on completing your outfit!

That's pretty good. So do you see yourself in engineering or security?

If Geordi got away with wearing that contraption over his eyes, I think you might get away with glasses!

Top job

I'm an engineer. There's special significance to my choice of division and rank. Lt. Commander is equivalent to a Major in the Air Force, and that's what my dad is (he officially retires on Halloween.) Also, dad's an engineer, and the degree I'm pursuing (Information Technology) is part of the college of engineering.

Wow. I'd bet one of my daughters would love to have a costumm as nice. Where did you aquire such a fine looking outfit? Before adding the combadge and pips, did you make the uniform or buy it?

I went to this costume shop downtown. I wasn't expecting to find anything, but they had some Star Trek costumes from various eras. A few TOS, some TNG (this one looked the nicest out of all of them. Thankfully it fits!), and a couple Voyager/DS9 uniforms. This shirt was only $20, too, because when this shop bought it from another shop to resell, they forgot to remove the $20 price tag from the first shop.
