Finally Starting "New Frontier" - 10 years later!

Frontier

Vice Admiral
Admiral
So I've been reading through books at an alarming rate in recent months; so quickly, in fact, that I have nothing left to read until next month's Pocket Trek releases. And then I have no doubt once I get them, they'll be read fully within a business week; if not sooner. I got "Q&A" on Saturday afternoon in the mail; it was finished by Sunday night. :D

Sooooo...

10 years after the fact, with something like 20 novels in the series, I am, just now, going to finally start on the "New Frontier" series.

Just purchased a bunch off of e-Bay - making sure to get 1,2,3 and 4 to start with.

So... just thought I'd share that with everyone. :D

It is not difficult to guess: I love the series! :D

I keep looking and hoping for some news when we will meet the NF gang again. Any help would be much appreciated.

I was only 10 when they came out and my mom wouldn't even let me read them at first. I remember when I did read them I was scared that I would get in trouble for having them at school. My teacher back then used to look at what we were reading to make sure that it was age appropriate, and I was afraid she'd end up on the scene with Mac in the desert or the flashback for Selar.

I just started reading New Frontier a couple weeks ago myself. Although I did have many of the 1-11 books as I got them as they came out. I was still in Junior High at the time and for some reason I never got into the series at that time. Now I am on Renaissance and it's only taken me 2.5 weeks to get this far.

Long live New Frontier!

10 years. such a great series enjoy reading them.

might be an excuse to go back and read the 1st 4 books again

I loved the series. I found the first 10 books in a used book store and never looked back. To be honest it could have been the new TV or movie franchise...

More please, Mr. David!

For those of you who want to see what Calhoun might look like on a TV series, check out the New Frontiers season 5 episode "Vigil".

10 years, huh?

That's crazy that it's already been that long. I started reading them as soon as they came out.

There should be a new book this year to celebrate the anniversary!

Alas...

I can only assume you're referring to Hidden Frontier's season 6 episode by that name.

And no, while they use several of the same characters, New Frontier and Hidden Frontier are not really reconcilable. They're just sort of.....Millenium/The Fallen-ish in terms of their relationship. Sort of as if only the first couple of NF books exist in HF's continuty.

20 years for me. :)
Just finished the first book. I enjoyed it a lot. Didn’t realise how short it was. If they’re all like that, I should be through the entire series in no time.
I like the captain. He reminds me of Lorca. A no nonsense captain that won’t take s*it from anyone. I think I’ll imagine Issacs for his role.
I also like they have The Thing as the security chief.

Just the first 4 are short. After that, they turn into normal length novels
