Finale Predictions *SPOILERS MASSIVE ONES*

I think Clara is going to call it a day at the end of next week or the Doctor is going to call it a day for her... The pregnancy predictions could be true or maybe The Doctor thinks that she's grown to be too much like him and he wants to save what humanity she has left, because that's why he loves his Companions. He adores humanity.

But I'd love for them to take the opportunity to have a former companion be a true recurring character. My one problem with the show is that when a Companion leaves, they rarely come back and in NuWho, it's almost as if they have to completely throw the baby out with the bath water and make them either irrevocably broken (The Ponds, Donna) or create some reason as to why they can never come back (Rose, Mickey). It'd be cool if Clara leaves stops making regular appearances on the TARDIS and is relegated to one or two appearances a season allowing her and the Doctor to maintain their relationship while he travels with a new crew.

Also mean perhaps Kate Stewart prefers to have run into the 11th Doctor in Power of Three rather than the 12th Doctor.

I don't have a problem with Clara making return appearances, but, I really don't want to have an emotional "Goodbye forever" for her this week, and then turn around and have her back again for the Christmas Special already. If she really is leaving in the Christmas Special, let's just wait until then to get the emotional "Goodbye forever" scene.

I'd put money on a cliffhanger ending on Saturday, leading directly in to the Xmas special.

That's not the impression I got. Rose kept turning up, Martha kept turning up, Donna's family kept turning up, Amy turned up after she was dead, and Clara has been retconned into every previous Doctor's life, including scenes shown on TV that we know damn well she wasn't in the first time around.

I'm way past tired of Clara. Once she goes, let that be the last we ever see of her, unless it's a special occasion like the 60th anniversary, or if the Doctor is having some kind of regeneration-induced vision (like the Fourth and Fifth Doctors did).

There's a bunch of early reviews out now and while they individually do a good job of not giving much away when you put them together some things do leak out. Like...
The Doctor asks Osgood to be his new Companion but she doesn't get to take up the role because the Master kills her.

Where are Amy and Rory? Missy has been collecting Minds/Bodies for a long time. Are Amy and Rory trapped in the Nethersphere? Are they now Cybermen? Will we get a cameo or at least an acknowledgement of the possibility of it?
Please, no. Unless it's a 60th anniversary show, let's stop any more nuCompanions from coming back.

After I made this post I realized that bringing back the actors would make so sense because they both died of old age. Their headstone with a couple of empty graves would be cool though.

Something I'm wondering - wasn't this season supposed to tell us something about why the Doctor looks like Peter Capaldi when that actor had appeared as another character in Doctor Who? Could that be crammed in the finale somewhere?

Why does that matter? We never got an in-story explanation why the Sixth Doctor looked exactly like Commander Maxil (Colin Baker played both parts).

Mysteries. Remember the cracks. They answered the question of where the cracks came from in series 5, but they didn't answer who blew up the TARDIS to make those cracks. Then by the end of the 11th Doctor's run we find the cracks have a circular reason for existing related to the Doctor's actions and actions against the Doctor to prevent those actions causing his actions.

Anyone else have pretty low expectations for tonights finale? I honestly can't think of a way to fix this without some magical BS similar to the vanishing trees from two weeks back.

"And with a wave of his hand, all the Cybermen vanished."

I'm not saying it matters; I just remember Moffat saying this would come up in series 8 and yet it hasn't so far. So did he change his mind or is it crammed in the finale somewhere?

Well, if I was writing it, I'd probably have all the dead people's minds restored so that they become normal individuals, albeit still in Cyber-armour, and then probably have them agree to emigrate somewhere...

I'm more suspecting Clara will have to choose between Danny and the baby I expect her to be expecting (based on dramatic expectations, the "three months" post-it note, and the obvious abortion debate in Kill The Moon.)

No seriously?

Where the fuck is episode 13?

They dropped the episode order and didn't tell me?

12 episodes?

What utter ####s.

You're right, Moffat did promise that the week Capaldi was cast, that there would be an explanation as to why the Doctor now resembles Caecilius which was based on RTD's explanation for why Caecilius resembles John Frobisher from Torchwood. So far, this was alluded to in Deep Breath when the Doctor looked in the mirror and commented on his new appearance looking familiar, but no real explanation.

I'm hoping Moffat has changed his mind, since RTD's story for the similarity was, well pretty bad. According to commentary on the Children of Earth DVD, John Frobisher is supposed to be a direct descendant of Caecilius, and the ultimate fate of Frobisher and his family is supposed to be the Timeline correcting itself after the Doctor interfered by rescuing Caecilius and his family from Pompeii. Though, I don't know how you can tie the Doctor now resembling Caecilius to this, does the Timeline now require the Doctor to wear the face of a man he met two lifetimes ago to atone for messing with things or something?

About half of the episodes this season have been extra-long, so there has actually been the regular amount of Dr Who this year in terms of runtime minutes, but not in episode count...
