Final weekend of TOSR?

I guess I should clarify what I was trying to say in my previous post.
For the past three seasons, TOS has been airing on a cash-barter basis on local stations with the stipulation that it only be played on Saturday and Sunday.
Apparently, that run is over and it's just a straight cash deal in local syndication again, and it can air Monday-Friday, just as it was for many years. Stations do have the right to choose the syndicated version or the network version (and what station in their right mind would show a 50 minute version vs. a 43 minute version?)

Pretty much what I've heard. They did one season's worth of ENT back in 2005/06, to tide stations over while CBS ramped up production on TOS-R. Now they move onto TNG back in syndication. Just old standard def masters though... since I expect they looked into remastering, but there's either no practical way of removing the "video look" (lack of film negatives). Or they don't think TNG can do better than however much profit TOS-R brought in.
Personally I think they've made a huge mistake with that, if true. The first couple TNG years will have dated horribly for the non-fan. If an all-out TNG-R isn't possible, then with Star Trek 2009 out on home video and Pay-per-view channels... the adventures of Kirk, Spock and McCoy needed to stay on the air. Cycle through TOS-R again in a different random order.
Better for me, would be a proper syndication of ENT for once. Rather than the half arsed, mixed up Season 4 plus Broken Bow, Regeneration & Carbon Creek they did years back. It's in HD and if only in regard to production values, it's the logical forerunner to Abramsverse... (since I didn't actually care for the film, you can't imagine how painful it is for me to lay more blame at ENT's door). I suppose SyFy and a HD service provider have an exclusive deal.

Re-mastered "Star Trek" is new to Space in Canada. They debuted it for a marathon, but I don't think it's being broadcast regularly just yet. Based on a promo I saw today, it'll be starting at the latest by November...maybe beginning at the start of that month.
No that is zero consolation...actuall it's negative zero.

It was pre-empted Monday by tennis but aired "Corbomite Maneuver" on Tuesday and "Mudd's Women" tonight. Maybe other stations might pick it up if they know there's a demand for it in their areas.
I'm going to check out this M-F thing...but I just know that Trek is off the air in my area for now. I mean an hour a friggin week..was that so much to ask? You best believe I sent them an email about it.
I can't imagine that CBS would not still offer TOS-R to stations that wanted it, since it's no additional cost to them and they get paid by the stations that run it. I suspect that it's simply a matter of not too many stations choosing to re-purchase it after the first run ended.
The weekend syndication (where the show is sold on a barter basis and appeared on national ratings charts) is over after 3 years, which was one year more than I thought it would run. It's now sold on a daily/strip syndication market. I am still holding out hope that they would sell it to a cable network so I can finally see it in HD.
TOS-R syndication seems to have expired here in the Washington DC market - for the past year the local CBS affiliate had run it at 2 a.m. on Sunday nights. At least as a result of the syndicated run I was able to get my non-Trek-fan wife to watch and actually appreciate (despite its being drastically cut) "The Cage."
In general, I think the remastering crew did one hell of a good job; they knew what not to change, and they made good decisions about what could be usefully enhanced not just in space but on various planets (I'm thinking of the new establishing shots added to, for example, "Amok Time," "The Cloud Minders," and "Requiem for Methuselah"). [And for those who don't like the remastered series, the originals can still be obtained. How I wish I could show my daughters Star Wars as I first saw it (four times) in 1977-78.]

WMEU-CA (MeToo Chicago) airs TOS-R at 7PM M-F followed each night by TNG at 8PM. They launched this schedule a couple of weeks after Syfy dropped TNG, so I'm having fun on the bun.
