Flux Capacitor probably didn't have those words in mind when he proposed "Speed Trek!" as the May TrekArt challenge, but fast is what it's all about. This month, our spacey speed demons put the pedal to the metal and pencils to the page to see who could cross the finish line first - but they need your vote to do it. Get up on your feet, wave those flags and bring the winner home!

** Note: the moderator screwed up while bleary-eyed and neglected to enter Tom Hendricks, who had submitted his entry - rather than restart the poll, please post your votes for Tom in this thread and they will be tallied at the end of voting along with the others. Sorry about the omission, Tom! :brickwall:

No idea what this is about.

Every month in this form there's a idea or "challange" submitted to the form by the winner of the previous month's contest. The art challange runs for the month and at the end of said month, the "contestants" submit the work they created in that one month challenge periord to our form moderator for posting and poll voting. The winner from this month has the honor of setting the art challenge topic for next month. It's all in fun and usually results in some great artwork to be share with all!

As an aside, Ptrope, how many votes can we cast this month? One, two? Poll doesn't say and I'd like to vote but do not want to short change any "contestant" if I can vote for more than one....

Since we have only a few entries this month, we're going with one voter - one vote; often, when we have more entries, we allow each voter two choices, and I'll usually note that in the initial posting.

Ooh, close one this time. Had to go with Admiral2 - I like the look of that Mach 5 with warp engines! (Or is it the Warp 5?) Starscape was a very close second for me.

But Frankenstein never did, right?

^^ He knows! He knows!

This one was tough - I really like Klaus's steam racer (Steam trek is close to my heart, as I'm sure you know ;)), and I love B.J.'s design - someone is going to make a 3D model of that one soon, I have no doubt. I had to vote for Starscape, though - I love the references, and it's just a cool image (you missed the A-Team, though! ;)).

(you missed the A-Team, though! ;))

It was on my list of possibles, but I thought the colour scheme might be too dark to see in space. ;)

Thanks very much for the vote and to everyone else as well! :D

I voted for B.J. - a very slick looking racer.

Gotta go with Tom Hendricks...racing around the rings definitely says fast to me.

Good work everyone!

...looks like congrats are in order! So what do you have in store for us this month?

Thanks, Klaus.

Thanks for the votes everyone. I'm surprised I've done so well, especially against such a great selection of entries, well done all! :techman:

I have an idea for the next challenge. I'll post it soon.

Congratulations, Starscape! It is protocol to at least wait until the poll closes, however, to pronounce the winner ;).

Thanks to everyone who entered, too, and to everyone who checked out your entries, voting or not. It's all about fun, and art, and maybe even a bit of self-challenge, to attempt something we've never or rarely done.

Now, let's get out there and shake things up! :bolian:
