What better topic on this debate night than "Who presents the best face of leadership?" Or, heck, who just made the coolest pic interpreting Klaus's request to "Take Me to Your Leader?" It's the first thing any upstanding alien asks when landing on our fair planet, though right now, he may not actually accomplish much by doing so. Sorry, Klaatu, but you'll have to wait in line with the rest of them, killer robot or not (just don't stand next to Neo - we can barely tell you two apart now! ;) )

Well, folks, there's no need to wait - you can cast your votes now, and we'll see who Gallups first to the finish line :D

^^ So Bela Okmyx for president is better?

Seriously - I really like both the idea and execution of the entry from Klaus.

"The Horizon Times" is a great concept, too. It could have been improved, though, if the captions adhered to the frame, there was a by-line etc.

Generally an enjoyable breadth of entries again - and that with "The Ghost of Spock" not even part of the candidates!

 Don't worry, I didn't take it personally... I'm not horrified by the prospect of a Janeway presidency, but it wasn't intended as my first choice. In the TNG era I'd probably take Picard but that's beside the point. :D

Starscape :techman:

P.S. ...Ptrope, for the record I'll argue with calling Gort a "killer robot"... he's a police officer! :D

Tough choices! Kinda like the real world :D. I had to go with largo, just because I got a kick out of the "committee to elect Harry Mudd" :bolian:. That could've also worked with a shot of hundreds of Stellas ;).

Klaus - Well I'll just have to argue with your argument with Ptrope! :) "Do as we, the higher more advanced civilization, say you should do or my buddy Gort here will destroy you." Hardly worthy of the prime directive. :p

I shudder at the thought of a remake. The original was such a classic (funny that Robert Wise directed that movie and TMP), it just seems like one of those that should be left alone.

Off my stump. To all the entries, great job. You guys really make it difficult to choose a winner!!

^^but the imposition of that robot police force was undertaken voluntarily by the races of the galaxy -- the rules may be harsh, and the choice given to later races like humanity really no choice at all, but that's not Gort's fault. You should be dissing Klaatu and the galactic community, not the tool... :D

Holy crap, someone voted for my entry?!??
I went with 137th Gebirg myself.

I didn't say he was an unjust robot - only a killer, which he did quite clearly and easily. I always wonder how the movie might've played if they'd kept the original denouement of the story, in which Klaatu revealed that Gnut (the robot's name in the story) was actually his master.

Take me to your leader, indeed :D.

I was just reacting to the connotation of "killer robot", not the denotation... :D

Starscape because I woke up this mornin', got myself a gun, got myself a gun (whoa oh oh!), got myself a gun.

A difficult choice, but I decided to vote for 137th Gebirg, too. :techman:

ALL of you guys who entered did a great job....imagine that...a vote where you would be happy with EVERY choice! :;

I also chose 137th Gebrig ...mainly of the irony of the slogan. But like I said, their are all good!

Gort is such a tool.

:D

True, my issue is with Klaatu, not with Gort.

Back on topic. Great entries by everyone this month. You guys/gals make it difficult to choose a favorite every month.

The polls are closed, Chad's hangin' out, and the undisputed leader is Starscape! Congratulations - now, what are you going to do about the economy of ideas? :D

Thanks to everyone who participated, and once again to everyone who viewed and voted - the world is a better place because of you all. Now, it's up to Starscape to step up to the podium and give us our goal for the next cycle. Hail our fearless leader! Let the bipartisan efforts begin!

Thanks everyone for your votes!!! No need to be too formal following my election, you can just call me "Da Boss". ;)

It's a honour to have won against such a strong field of entries. Well done, all! :bolian:

I have an idea for the next challenge... hopefully it won't cause you to regret voting for me.

i find myself in the surprisingly exclusive club who voted for ptrope
Not that surprising - I'm usually the black sheep in these competitions ;). Thanks for the vote!

Starscape - no worries about your challenge; we've never actually impeached a challenger. :bolian:
