Admit it, you were drawn to this one! You expected an animated discussion, with every cel of your being!

137th Gebirg tooned into your frequency and delivered a worthy challenge: why master the animated Star Trek when you can remaster it? It was your chance to show what the show could have been if created today.

Pencils down, it's now time to score the results. Vote for your favorite Saturday morning vision - which one would have you cross-legged on the floor with your nose pressed to the flatscreen? In 2 days, the winner will get to challenge the November artists to yet another creative frontier!

Voted for you, Klaus.
Your update of the Traitor's Claw is easily identifiable as the Kzin ship, is clearly made with modern tools, possesses that retro-kitsch the hipsters seem to love, and is toy-ready. Clearly perfect for the 21st century.

To me, the standard of turning a successfull sci-fi live-action franchise into a television cartoon franchise is the Star Wars Clone Wars/Rebels series. And monodox's effort looks like it would fit right in to those shows, while still being recognizably the Orion ship from TAS.

Got my vote.

Agreed! :techman:

I'm just stunned Ptrope did not enter something as this concept is the basis of his "signature line".

Sincerely,

Bill

I've already done so many things based on this premise, I didn't think I had anything in me that qualified as "new." ;)

Congratulations, monodox! Well done, and the torch passes to you ;).

Cool entries this month - looking forward to the new challenge.

Thanks to all who voted for me! :) 3rd isn't so bad, the last few I've entered I didn't get a vote but my own! lol

Congrats monodox! Considering you haven't posted that much, you may not know, but it's up to you to pick the theme for November's challenge! Just start a thread describing it and Ptrope will pin it.

Hopefully soon, there is only 20.4 days left in November

Thanks to all who voted - glad my Orion mesh proved worthy. I have posted a subject for the November Challenge - hope it meets with approval.
Kail - I don't think my post count gives me access to PM at the moment. I can be reached at hjgibbens(at)gmail.com.
