I always said that someone who builds models for a living is probably working for scale!

===============

monodox thinks there just haven't been enough Star Trek models, and you know what? He's probably right! For every one of us with glue-coated fingertips and a couple scars from a hobby knife, there's probably another sad Trek fan who never found a model of what he or she really wanted to build. So his challenge was to show off what we thought shoulda been on those hobby store shelves.

So now it's time to browse the inventory, pick the one you like best, and VOTE! It's fun, and it's easier than getting your mom to buy you one when you were 8 years old! The winner gets to create the December challenge (unfortunately, we can't make an actual model of the winner - yet!), and we all get to wish we had room for one more model on our shelves at home.

2 days, 1 vote - hey, put that glue down!

Anyone else getting a glitch when clicking on and displaying Kail's entry?

Funny entry, BTW, Kail.

These are fantastic. I really get an other-worldly vibe from them. The only reason that I only voted for one was because radio button. :scream:

Great job, everybody! :techman:

P.S. If The Lensman would agree, I'd really like to see the five side panels on the box for the other kits more closely.

I'd love to have a kit of Engineering! Tough call, though. Every entry was great this month! And what a great theme for a challenge.

BK613, that is inspired. I have the perfect place for that model on my shelf.

Sorry, Solarbaby - I really tried to get your attention, and was surprised when I saw your post elsewhere but still no notice. Guess the "challenge alarm" didn't go off ;).

Thanks for the kind words. No promises, but my approach to this was to envision how it might have been subassembled as a kit. So it exists as subassemblies (base, central island, foyer walls, etc.). I do intend to look into how to make those subassemblies 3D printer friendly.
Congratulations, BK613! A tough competition this time, and a well-deserved win!
Thanks. Posting the December challenge now.

Would you mind if I shared this image on my Facebook page?
If you are referring to me, then yes I do mind. ;) I loathe Facebook and its privacy-leeching business model and therefore don't want anything I've created supporting it in any way. :p

Hear, hear! I respect your position. I'll post some of my work on Facebook, provided it's of someone else's I.P. (say, Star Trek). But my original stuff stays off of it.
