And the Great Bird of the Galaxy said ... Let there be light!

Into Darkness is still in theaters, but that's no reason not to take a ... lighter ... approach to Star Trek, or so thinks Dac, our May challenge winner and the one who 'brightened up' the June challenge by asking us to shed a little light on the final frontier.

And on this weekend of fireworks and frivolity, it's time to set your fasers (sorry, resistance was futile!) to 'vote.' In two dazzling days, one of our contestants will be the brightest flash, the biggest BOOM, and next month's challenger!

Illuminating!

Wow. At the moment its literally a 3 way tie with 4 votes each, and I can totally see why.

I love all of these entries. Klaus, thats just a beautiful scene and Solarbaby's I love for the fact she used playmates toys to create a dynamic scene.

But in the end I voted for Starscape - I've always thought the Pegasus as an Oberth class was underwhelming and if I could have changed one thing on the blu rays it would probably be that. The Ambassador-ish Nebula class? design is just fantastic and really fits with the era and intent for its use as a testbed.

While all the entries were fantastic, I voted for Solarbaby. With his use of small amount of light, he crafted as image that looks amazingly real. You can imagine a sneak attack on the Enterprise, where main lights were lost and a boarding party has a go at the bridge.

Just had to vote for Starscape because that's an homage to one of my favorite episodes.

Thanks peeps. I'm surprised I won compared to the other 2 entries. I don't think my idea came across properly in what I was trying to do. I should have had beams of light leaving the lurbolift. Anyways it still did the trick haha.

Here's the original image. it was quite a challenge to draw the roof dome.

Congratulations!

Three great entries and the results show that it wasn't an easy decision.
