FINAL POLL - July Challenge - The Unthinkable!

As I told you, it would be absolutely, totally, and in all other ways inconceivable!

Apparently, Solarbaby knows us better than we think! The challenge for July was to present the unthinkable, a vision from the Star Trek universe that possibly could have happened ... but probably never should happen. Not a crossover from other franchises or genres, but a twist that was unthinkable either to the characters or to TPTB who produced the show ("Captain Kirk absolutely does not pee!" )

So, basically, it was a call to the most twisted among us!

So now, the unthinkable is inevitable, and your vote is needed for the most unthinkable of all: a winner! And that winner must think up the August challenge!

I haven't voted yet, this months contest is the first time I truly don't know who to pick. All the entries are wonderful and are making it close to impossible to choose one. I will have to ponder on all the entries before I make my decision. Well done!

I finally voted and it was the toughest decision. Usually for these contest I gravitate towards one picture immediately, not so with this contest. I kept mulling it over and over, arguing with myself which one was better. I had to try and boil it down somehow and it came down to concept. So I voted for Solarbaby. While I liked the daytime version better, I still respect the vision.

Thanks for the vote Ptrope! Although given that we're roughly the same age, it's strange that you'd think my entry reminded you of your sister's teen mags instead of reminding you of the actual "Giant Poster Books" published in the 70's.

These things were real, the Holy Grail (for me)was issue one since it had an awesome poster of the Enterprise (I think it was a top down shot from Tholian Web). I actually have most of these and recently almost destroyed one because the crease's were so worn that it tore verrrrrrry easily (the poster for that month was cool shot of the bridge crew from the I.S.S. Enterprise)

Ah, yes. I got 'em all...although they are not in very good shape at all - very well used. IIRC, they had some interesting photos on the original filming miniature shoots, plus its donation to the Smithsonian. The mirrors, lighting circuitry and other stuff inside the bussards were all smashed, IIRC, which is why for decades they were nothing more than static red lights when it got hung in the A&SM in DC. The upper navigational dome over the bridge was also missing and had to be replaced with a less-than-accurate part.
