No one would have believed, in the last days of the year of our Lord 2012, that Starfleet affairs were being watched, across the timeless gulfs of space, from the inscrutable planet Mars ... (with profound apologies to H.G. Wells)

Once again, Man is on the red planet, that world which, more than any other besides our own, has stirred our imagination and chilled our hearts. This year alone, we've sent both John Carter and Curiosity across the void, with wildly different levels of success, and so Albertese challenged us all to view Star Trek through the red lens.

This one was really hard! As a classical music fan, I appreciated B.J.'s entry. I really liked the idea behind Klaus's entry. I really liked the composition and color use in Ptrope's entry. But ultimately, I was swayed by the cheescake and voted for Redfern.
