Those numbers are actually pretty terrible for the PS3 side of the house seeing as how Final fantasy is often viewed as a "Sony" game and how the 360 port wasn't handled with as much care as it should have beem

Yes, I must admit, I was somewhat surprised by that. I expected PS3 sales to easily eclipse those of the 360.

I think the initial reports on the quality of the 360 port were somewhat exaggerated. Yes, it could have been better, but it's still a damned fine game irrespective of that.

Given this it'll be interesting to see what Square do with future FF installments beyond Versus.

finaly made it to chapter 10 and its the return of the pulsework soldiers >_< whoever thought those up should die

i've actually put my FFXIII gaming on hold for now. The game was starting to get good, but with Dragon Age Origins: Awakening out and Perfect Dark coming out today, I have better things to do :p

Meanwhile I have my sealed copy of Awakening and I don't really want to open it because I know the presentation values will be a drastic step lower than what I've just experienced for the last 60 hours. Figures. :lol

OK I'm at the point in the game where you can upgrade weapons, but they don't SAY what the stats on the components are! How am I supposed to know what to use? Also, why upgrade a weapon when I'll get a newer better weapon in a level or two?

Ugh this upgrading stuff is so confusing. If I discover a new weapon should I sell the old upgraded one and start upgrading the new one? Because I never have enough components to properly do this stuff. This is annoying.

Yeah, it's good... although nothing beats having a handy reference you can flip through.

As for components - if you are going for achievements, you'll have to upgrade every single weapon anyway. If you don't care, then you should be able to finish the game proper without any upgrades whatsoever, so you don't need to worry about it.

So lemme get this straight from that FAQ... I should sell all components except sturdy bone and barbed tail and vibrant ooze and then buy those?

Not quite.

You use organics to raise the multiplier then use inorganic parts to actually raise the experience of the weapon.

It's just that study bone is the most efficient in terms of raising the multiplier vs the cost of each one.

Also, once you get the multiplier up to 3x, use as many inorganics at the same time as possible. Once you use them, the multiplier will go down again.

It's why people suggest waiting to chapter 11 - that's when you can grind and get useful material/enough gil to buy components.

Ah crap I'd been selling everything else. So the mechanical circuit type things you keep then? Still I just started Ch7 and all my weapons are Level 5-7 is that good?

I continue to find the upgrading system really confusing. Like I'm in Ch7 and I just picked up a new weapon for Snow, a Paladin. The stats for it are so much worse than the original weapon (Power Circle). So do I stick with the original? Or do I take the new one?
