Well, if they gave you full control, they'd definitely would have to make the game turn based instead of the MMO-like system they have now. I'm just glad that for the most part, the game knows what to do in every situation - which was the problem with the Persona AI.

I'm a few hours in, and so far I'm really liking the combat and levelling up system, plus the graphics and music are amazing. Not too sure about the storyline. In the beginning, the characters talk about Pulse, Cocoon, l'Cie and fal'Cie like you should already know what they are. Much of the dialogue between the characters is also cringe-worthy, not to mention that Vanille is just outright annoying.

10 hours in, i'm at the point where instead of narrow paths and avoidable battles there are wide paths and you have to clear an area to open the next

OK I started the game today and played almost all of Chapter 1. I'm not sure about the battle system yet but it's early days. The graphics are great. I know you guys were talking about the game being "linear" but I didn't know that meant walking down a straight ****ing corridor! Yikes. I also found the story confusing b/c they weren't explaining what was going on, but I found out the datalog actually synopses each chapter which is pretty cool. Lightning is pretty bad ass so far but I really don't like Snow's look. Will have to drop him out of my party at the first availability.

ok, at the point where you get Snow back, and i'm stuck, you start out with Shiva, which destroys the smaller enemies, but i can only get her to knock down HALF the health of the robot (REALY, WHY IS THERE AN ENEMY WITH 29,000 HP IN A 1 ON 1 BATTLE?) i've about concluded that this point may not be passable

Use autoselect until you get down to 1 AP left or whatever, then press Triangle as your final attack.

Because it uses ALL your remaining AP, use it when you only have enough AP for one last move anyway.

When I did that, it worked first time as the last attack staggered and killed everyone in that final move.

In the fight with Shiva (or is she called Nix in this one?) you need to first use libra, then switch to a defensive paradigm, as the game mentions in the tutorial. Then all you need to do is use steelguard the entire fight and as you defend and she attacks, her bar increases. Once the bar is full, a dialogue box will appear on the right hand side of the screen telling you to press Square. Press it and she is yours. I believe steelguard is under the sentinel defensive paradigm

Actually, the other twin thingie heals you as one does damage. But yeah, all you need to do is block in that one.

yeah, if you auto Shiva, she'll do the job, i take it there is a new game+ mode given the difficulty level of some of these things I am fighting

Into Chapter 3 now... I find it really creepy that Snow and Serah are getting married since he looks 30 and she looks 12. Also he has about 200 pounds on her. How old are these characters supposed to be anyway? And how can I delete Hope from the game? He's a whiny little brat. And what is Vanille's accent? Australian on helium? :D

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about Snow and Serah. Talk about jail bait  We know that Lighting is 21. I don't know if they mentioned the ages of any of the other characters.

Lightning looks like she should be older than 21. What's a lolicon? I think I can guess :p There's also the fact that Serah appears to be wearing a Catholic school girl uniform with a really, really short skirt.

Yeah, whatever you think a lolicon (aka lolita-complex) is, you're probably right ;)

So I'm now about 18 hours in... and I gotta say I'm absolutely loving the game. Too bad the weekend is almost over and I gotta go back to work tomorrow lol. :p

So all these fangs and fluids and circuits I'm picking up, do these exist only to sell for money, or do you keep them for something else?
