The game comes out in like two days. Are you going to get it? I found the last two FF games to be disappointing. FFX-2 was nothing but sidequests, and I disliked the gambit system of FFXII. Hopefully FXIII will be much better.

Which version will you get PS3 or XBOX360?

PS3 version, dont currently own one but when i do thats the system i will play it on. Just doesnt feel right playing it on the 360 right now...

(Plus ill get a chance to play the rest of the good ps3 exclusives)

I'll probably pick the game up when it comes out. That being said, the last final fantasy I liked was FFX so yeah....

12 is my all time favorite RPG. I'm playing 10 right now (bout half way through). I'm getting the 360 version, I don't have a PS3. Thank god it wasn't exclusive!

I'll probably get it (for PS3) eventually, but I'm not in any rush. Final Fantasy, and JRPGs in general, don't hold the same appeal to me now as they did in the mid/late '90s.

I'll be getting the PS3 version. I've read the the 360 version is spread over three discs. I guess I hadn't realised the difference in storage capacity between the two formats.

The last Final Fantasy I really liked was X. I've never played XI, and frankly I can't say I ever will. XII was ok, but I thought the characters and storyline wern't as strong as previous entries. I did like the gambit system and licence grid though.

I'm looking forward to XIII, but from what I've seen so far, the storyline seems a little strange, even for a JRPG, and some of the dialogue seems a bit heavy handed. Still, I'll wait until I play it before making any definative judgments.

I wish the PS3 version had dual audio tracks, but oh well.

This is probably the first time I'm actively choosing the PS3 version though.

Yeah, playing Final Fantasy on a Microsoft console just sounds wrong.

But then, there were probably people who felt the same way about playing Final Fantasy VII on a Sony console instead of one by Nintendo.

Ditto. It's not so much that I feel as if its weird playing a Final fantasy on something other than a Sony though. I've read a few accounts of the 360 version being gimped in comparison to the PS3 version. If I have both consoles, why not get the better version. It will also officially be my 5th PS3 game, it's about time I've added SOMETHING to the pile

For those that don't have a 360 system and want it along with FFXIII, Amazon is selling a FFXIII Elite bundle right now for $399. It comes with a free FFXIII faceplate.

The faceplate sold seperately costs $50! Yikes. Talk about overpriced piece of plastic!

Well, yeah, there's that, too. Just like MGS4, I can't imagine playing FFXIII on the 360 and finding it to be nearly as good an experience as it would have been on the PS3.

That said, FFXIII will only be my sixth PS3 game.

It's probably the first time you're looking at a multiplatform title developed using PS3 as the lead platform too. Everyone makes a fuss about the PS3's arcane architecture, but it was no different back in the PS2 era. The difference is that PS3 doesn't dominate the market like PS2 did. Sony could've gotten away with it if they'd launched 12 months before X360 instead of after it, and at a reasonable price point; we'd all be remarking about that rare X360 title which manages to live up to the PS3 version.

Well, the other title that was PS3 lead that I know of was Burnout Paradise... but I bought that mostly because they offered it as a discounted PSN release rather than any preference.

But yeah, 360 has the advantage of being first. It's where I buy most of my games, for better or for worse.

Hah, what language options does that version have?

Holland usually gets the same version the UK gets, with english as the only option...
They might replace the cover and booklet for ones with a Dutch translation, but not the game...
I do know there are some games with Dutch screentexts and even Dutch voice-acting, like the Ratchett & Clank games...
But i stick to English, it's what i'm used to...

Okay, I'm getting the ps3 version 'cos well I only have a ps3 but I can't be the only one struggling to see a difference in those comparisson vids, if that means the only disadvantage for the xbox is disc swapping, well hell I grew up on a playstation 1, I think I could cope.
