Final Curtains for Dr. House

To be a contrary voice, i actually LIKE the inter-personal interactions. The medical stuff, while somewhat interesting, has been done for so long that it gets routine and boring, even with the 'exciting' cases. The cast interacting is about the only thing keeping me watching...

This.
Even in the earlier seasons the cases rarely grabbed me, I'm in it for House and his interactions with other people...

Yep, don't want to shut off my brain and watch a generic medical/law/cop procedural. It's the twist on the characters that's the fun part. No interest in CSI, love Castle. Pass on ER, but enjoy House. The characters interacting IS the show. Medical mysteries just keep the show moving, and give them an element to interact in.

Yeah I don't think the issue with people is really the other non-medical stuff, they have had that for years. I feel the problem now is that it's just poor writing, or laziness, or cliche or all of everything. The reason I like 13 more now is because her relationship with House makes sense, it's also fun. Before when she was just doing something different every week and then hooking up with Foreman, it just felt odd.

I completely agree with this. I love every episode of the show, and while it's not as amazing as season 4 (which is probably my favorite season), it's not even remotely bad. Hell, has everyone forgotten about Tritter? I would argue that the last three seasons have been better than season 3.

That all being said, I'm not surprised the show is ending next season. All good things must come to an end. All I ask for now is that the producers absolutely must get Stephen Fry to guest star!

:techman: House is not a show that will be remembered for its medical mysteries, but for its characters (especially House himself) and their arcs. The medical mysteries provide a skeleton around which the drama unfolds, and I like that just fine. I don't think the show would be as good if you took one piece or the other out of it.

I don't necessarily have a problem with the non medical stuff but in the earlier seasons they balanced the medicine with the drama far better than they have the last 2, 2-1/2 seasons.

I don't mind if House goes away after this season. The writers have pretty much messed up the whole show in terms of drama. And the only thing left now are the patients and their cases.

Other than that -- the show's crap.

Not worth watching, imho. The writing isn't nearly as good as it used to be, and they're relying TOO much on the whole 'House using drugs' premise. It's getting old fast. As for the House/Cuddy thing -- that's a minor issue to me, but they could have handled the break up better than they did.

On a side note, been reading some of the stuff on Twitter that was posted by one of the producers of the show. What a jerk -_-.
