Final Curtains for Dr. House

I don't know about his crane but it's past time for Hugh Laurie to hang up the House cane.

This is old news and, for my money, THIS should be the last season of House. I'd already decided to ride this one out but I'm not watching if it's back next year. It's become a parody of itself. The writing has gotten lazy and it's simply no fun anymore.

I was starting to feel that way last season, but I think this season they got their mojo back with some really funny and creative episodes.

I'm always happy when shows I don't watch end. That frees up a timeslot for something else, that could turn out to be great and something I'd want to watch. Odds are against any one show being watchable much less great, but that just means we need more free timeslots to increase the overall odds.

They've done just about every wacky kind of storyline they could possibly do at this point (including replacing the supporting cast several times and having House + Cuddy get together) so yeah, I'd say they are running out of things to do at this point. Good time to end it.

It really needs to end this season. It's getting tiresome, and as Captain Dago said, it is becoming a parody of itself.

Oh come on. You're going to tell me that the "Bombshells" episode with zombies, a musical number, Butch and Sundance, and a takeoff on 2 1/2 Men wasn't a hoot?

I still like House but I don't mind it ending. Could've ended this season... overall it had a good run.

I have enjoyed the show...but I would rather it go out while it's still watchable than hang around any longer. I think they have exhausted the possibilities.

I would like to see Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard in other things though. Great acting synergy there, IMO.

I'm hoping next season being the final season will push the writers into shaking up the status quo in ways that the show doesn't bounce back from like real, lasting consequences for Dr. House's actions.

It's a shame how much the show has slipped, fallen, from the Fourth Season (really the last, great, season) but the various contractual problems, most heavily with Laurie, aren't going to make this show one that can survive one. Next season will be the eighth season and will suit fine as the final one. The show would be doing better if it hadn't strayed so far from the medical mystery aspect and into the night-time drama/relationship stuff the show was more interesting being about a misanthropic, eccentric, doctor solving tough medical mysteries. Now? It's all about House's various proclivities and his relationship with Cuddy.

Yeah. It's time. And, as I've said before, House shouldn't have ended up with Cuddy but with Wilson.

I love House, but it's had a good run. It's had rough patches, although I don't think it needs to end. It's always come back from it's low points in the past. This season has had some duds (such as the musical thingy), but I don't understand the parody comments at all. But as I said, it's had a great run and it's not like it was killed before it's time.

As long as house gets a real ending you cant be upset at eight seasons.

Great run and great show though I can't see how they can really end show without killing House ? maybe he can be his last patient?

Wrong show. Go watch Boston Legal.

It made/makes more sense with House and Wilson. Their relationship was already an old married couple's. The ep's of them living together were approximately one Vietnamese baby and a cameo from Nathan Lane away from being an episode of "Modern Family"

If they ever reboot Grumpy Old Men, t
Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard ought be cast.... ;)

Yeah, it's definitely time to hang it up. It can occasionally put out a decent episode but at this point, the boring ones vastly outnumber those.
