Filming Locations

Of interest:
"Star Trek filming will be on location @Budweiser Brewery, Sony Studios, Dodger Stadium, Long Beach City Hall, MCAS Tustin [Marine Corps Air Station Tustin] & the Vasquez Rocks."

(I didn't realize that this was posted elsewhere but in some obscure locations until after posting this, but this is better on its own probably.)

So no rural road near Bakersfield or power plant at Lebec standing in for Iowa, but looks like we will be seeing the Academy's meeting hall and the shuttleport again, as well as Vulcan?

^

Well since Vulcan has been destroyed, I would assume it would have to be a flashback?

Could be that, or they could shoot the rocks from a different angle and have it be some other rugged, deserty sort of alien planet - we've seen that plenty of times, too.

It would interesting if they released a list of 'story' locales, in other words, some of the places we'll be visiting in the film. I'm still hoping for Klingons and their homeworld, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I remember when it was reported that they were scouting Hawaii (which apparently isn't going to happen after all) that they were also going looking to film at an L.A. museum which was supposed to stand in for a "famous Trek location" too.

Come to think of it, other than Sony they are filming at least the same exact locations according to that list, I wonder if that is a reputable source after all.

Wasn't Dodger's Stadium where they shot either the sky diving scene or the Delta Vega running in the snow scene ST09? (or both)?

I strongly disagree that these are actual filing locations for the new movie. Abrams isn't one to rehash previously used locations.

Looks to just be a re-listing of locations used in the last film.

Read the TrekMovie article linked in Devon's post, four or five above this one.

Or heck, just click on it here:

Scroll down a bit to get to the part where it talks about the reported locations.

Ooh, Canada. There's no tanning factor there this time of the year. Of course, I don't think there's hardly any snow either.

Guess we should be on the look-out for a Brit with a fake tan or altered eyebrows.

Hey, am I the only one who wasn't aware that engineering was a brewery, in ST XI?

My bad. BC is in Canada, but not for filming the ST movie. Maybe they do the best spray tans and faux chest pieces there?
