Film recommendation

Absolutely!
This is one of my favorite movies from that era and is part of my DVD collection. Is one of the incrdible stories to come out of World War 2. Beginning with the unbelievable obliteration of the Royal Navy's pride and joy, HMS Hood, to the entire North Atlantic fleet out to hunt down and kill one ship.

Wow. I didn't think that anyone actually liked this film.

I didn't.

VERY S-L-O-W moving. Worth a view but I wouldn't watch it again.

One can easily drift off to sleep trying to view this film.

A very good movie, told with bravado and poise. For a film with such a documentary style, it still feels very human.

Thanks. I'll try it. I'm reading his Horatio Hornblower books since GR re-read them and modeled the original Ent and Kirk on them. They are great. Adventure tales with surprisingly good characterization and depth.
