Fight scene footage!

I haven't seen the comic, but was Mitchell's demise irrevocable, or was it murky?

This guy is undeniably stronger than a "regular" human, but it could also be that Spock misapplied the neck pinch or his hand was pulled away before he could apply proper pressure long enough.
Spock subdued Mitchell with a nerve pinch to the neck. Mitchell passed out. As he's waking up, his eyes are not glowing, suggesting he's returning to normal. However, that's not the case. Mitchell begs Kirk to kill him, and Kirk does with a phaser rifle.
Is there a precedent for Klingons being able to resist the neck pinch?
Don't think so, but has the nerve pinch ever been used on a Vulcan? We could have a Vulcan Augment. Holy Crap!:wtf:

Though, Abrams might just go with plastic surgery being the answer

In The Trouble with Tribbles, back before McCoy suddenly and mysteriously lost all knowledge on Klingon anatomy, his scan revealed the infiltrator had his internal organs "in the wrong place", any tricorder can quickly point out their insides are Klingon no matter what face they're wearing.

Maybe the Klingons got smart and rearranged the internal organs of their infiltrator? Anyway, Starfleet's lack of sensible security measures is legendary, about on par with Stormtrooper marksmanship. ;)

McCoy looked at his tricorder as the results came up on the screen and near immediately said "Jim, this man is a Klingon." with absolute certainty. So Starfleet is well aware of their insides, probably had enough bodies piled up during the "hostilities" between them for both to know what ther other had.

I see no reason for this 'verse not to have the same intel, one quick scan would show it so no.

All I see is a male human in cast off clothing able to take a phaser blast and backhand a Vulcan across a street causing a rucus on an old crashed wreck having at least been a 'guest' amongst the fleeters to gain some of their shirts. Anything else, nada.

Sherlock hands Spock his ass... Nice handwork, actually, especially from BC- excellent use of open-handed blocks and elbows. I approve.

I hope JJ saves the overhead double-handed, fingers-laced tomahawk chop for Chris Pine. Sure, realistically you'll break every finger with that blow, but it's vintage Shatner-Kirk.

There's nothing in the Gary Mitchell story to suggest that he'd excel in prolonged hand-to-hand combat with Spock. When not powered up, he's just a guy. When he is powered up, he doesn't need to fight hand-to-hand.

So much for Gary Mitchell.

Where the hell was this cell-phone ninja hiding? And for how long??

That's what I'm wondering. All they have to do is look at the angle of the video and remember who was standing near there during that shoot.

The spy is Orci! ...creating buzz for the movie.. giving him more to talk about on trekmovie.com ! lol

It might garner my attention more if the movie might revolve around Gary Seven (the character NOT the TBBS member...LOL) Who is the only one that has really shrugged off a Vulcan Nerve Pinch. :)

Well, Hell, Fire and Damnation!!!!! Paramount pulled the video. Two thumbs in the potty to them.

Methinks you need to rewatch the epsiode.

Nimoy didn't invent the FSP (Famous Spock Pinch as they used to say) until The Enemy Within. It's the Doc who jabs him with a hypo.

Mitchell does not beg Kirk to kill him, although he suggests that in Kirk's place he'd do what Spock is thinking. When his eyes revert to normal after Dehner zap him he says, "Jim..." and Kirk hesitates smashing him with a rock.

I don't know if I can handle this.. at what point do I abandon this forum and all media if I want to remain spoiler free. I managed to be totally spoiler free last time. I'm stressing already.

you'll need to take a long nap.

I think Trekkie2 was talking about the comic book. I was all set to call him on this as well until I noticed Franklin's original post that Trekkie2 was answering said, "I haven't seen the comic, but was Mitchell's demise irrevocable, or was it murky?"
