Fight Club - I gave up a bit more than part-way through

I have already said to keep this thread on topic and stop the little escalating slagging match going on here. If it continues, infractions will be issued. Discuss the content of the movie Fight Club, not the posters in this thread, or don't post in it again. That goes for everyone.
Whatever you wish, but this thread is called "Fight Club - I gave up a bit more than part-way through", so debating that second part seems perfectly legit to me. I'll stop posting, though.

Hey, Man, you want to debate the movie as a whole, start your own thread. As suggested by the title and made clear in the OP, I'm interested in discussing certain specific aspects of the movie, which happened to lead to my giving up on it. Either way, my inflated ego is not on trial here, and rules concerning personal attacks still apply. ;)

The problem with only discussing certain parts is the implication that they constituted plot holes when, in fact, they were addressed later on and, imo, seemed fairly clear cut with an understanding of Edward Norton's character and what the movie symbolized.

I have yet to be surprised, plot- or theme-wise, by anything said in this thread. ;)

How would you be surprised since the twist was basically revealed in the first page of the thread. It's obvious the film didn't interest you enough to continue watching it...that happens to me in rare circumstances. I can understand not getting into a film and deciding not to continue it. I was absorbed with "Fight Club" from the start though and continued to be fascinated with the film all the through and was surprised by the twist.
